I'm part way through putting our entire musci collection on to iTunes and was having a conversation with Rusty about this. Personally I reckon I'd end up getting annoyed with it and probably forever associate certain songs with being in agony! But did you have one and if so what sort of tracks?
If I was doing it it'd probably be very chilled out stuff like Zero 7, Pavement etc I think

Still think you should go down the comedy route. Might lighten the mood for you!

I was thinking about putting something together as I find music can be motivational. H suggested Salt n Pepa 'Push It'...
If I do it, I'd go for chilled out acoustic stuff like Ben Howard, maybe some Beatles but I guess it depends on your music preferences in general...

I did a playlist of labour music but it was all relaxation stuff or "dolphin music" as my H calls it!! The kind of stuff they play in spas when you have a massage done.

I've done one, on iTunes, whether it will help or not remains to be seen! I stayed away from extra loud, thrashy songs but other than that put on all the songs I love. I saw it as they give me pleasure now so are unlikely to have a negative effect during labour. I also thought Id rather here music I love than other women screaming ;)

I had one but didn't listen to it in the end as I wanted complete silence!!

Actually I didn't have one but would have liked something to block out the beeping noise from the monitor they were using on the baby.

There was a radio in the delivery room so I just had the local radio station on

I did and it was a great distraction and the mw loved it too. I had all my favourite songs and relaxing songs playing. Completely coincidentally A was born to the song I walked down the aisle to and had our first dance to. So an already special song became an even more special song x

I just look my ipod. H played our wedding song and the one we associated with honeymoon. Then we put on the Adele album but when things really got going I wanted silence. Iewas completely in my own world. However in theatre the radio was on and E was born to Michael Jackson abc!

I listened to Coldplay Mylo Xyloto album whilst labouring with A. Every teardrop is a waterfall will forever give me goosebumps, she was born to it. Such a special song for me and a special album too.
It only holds beautiful memories for me.
We also watched the inbetweeners movie with the midwife lol, laughter is very good for you in labour.

Yep, I had chilled Air, Groove Armada, Mazzy Star etc first time but I found it a bit annoying.
So second time round I had more upbeat but still epic tunes - Elbow, Guillemots, Beatles, Jeff Buckley etc. LOVED it and found it very uplifting and helpful - she was born to Badly Drawn Boy's You Were Right which is one of my fave songs ever.

We had the Keep Calm and Relax album playing. It was actually quite nice as it's fairly easy listening.

I'm thinking of updating my music to take with me. H bought me Lady Antebellums new album, so that will need to go on my playlist. I wish I could fin my hard drive with all my music on it, would save me having to dig out my CD's!
