Sorry I don't get to post much, I couldn't get on here on my work computer and although constantly lurking, this is my first baby and everyone seems to know so much i learn lots but cant add many answers! So I feel a bit guilty asking questions now!
I am 38+3 and am very bored and constantly trying to spot the start of labour!
One thing I havent noticed yet though is my plug, did you all realise/spot yours or did it go unnoticed for some? And when did you lose it?

I had little bits and pieces for a couple of days you might not notice but when the whole thing went.....yes! You really really couldn't miss it! I think some people lose it over a few weeks though and so maybe dont notice as much.

Hey! With my first I lost my plug as my waters started to go, 3 hours later I was holding a baby! I didn't realise it was a plug I'd lost.
With no 2 I went to the loo about 10 mins before my waters broke and there was nothing. My waters went in pretty spectacular style so no idea if anything was visible

Same as Snidget, I didn't notice a plug going before my waters broke. I didn't notice anything in my pants afterwards either. I'd thought everyone would see their plug but I never did. Waters kept going for 24 hours before I was induced and then he was born, still never saw anything that I'd call plug-like!

I noticed, although of course if there were smaller bits before I wouldn;t know if I hadn't noticed it.
It was clear like snot, and was clearly something more than normal discharge.

Definitely noticed. Was a never-ending bloody, snot-like goo when I went to the loo. Contractions started that night, but it took 5 more days for E to arrive....

Thanks ladies, doubt ill have missed it then!
I don't know what to do to distract myself from trying to spot the signs of early labour! It could still be a long wait!

My labour started with my waters breaking, when the mw examined me at 9cm she said she saw my show but I never saw it

Didn't notice at all. My labour started with contractions, never noticed my waters or plug going at all.
10/07/2013 at 03:05
Yep I noticed it start to go the day before, couldn't have missed it every time I wiped but during labour I remember the MW saying I'd lost my plug so I can only have noticed the start of it. My friend didn't lose any until she was in established labour. Hope you aren't waiting too long, I was exactly the same on full labour alert!

My husband noticed mine. By far, the most glamorous moment of my entire labour when he noticed this snotty blob on my leg. I think his exact words were what the f&%$ing he'll is that?!
10/07/2013 at 18:56
Didn't with either of mine
10/07/2013 at 19:41
I didn't but was told I'd had a bloody show when having my sweep at T+7. Didn't lose anything else though.
10/07/2013 at 20:21
MrsDee thats so funny! thats the kinda thing that would happen to me!
I was told at the ante natal classes that you can lose it at around 37 weeks onwards but sounds like the norm is for it to go when your waters go.
10/07/2013 at 22:42
Yes I noticed. I'd had a stretch & sweep done & I had a very bloody blob that I passed that I didn't think could be anything else except my mucus plug!
11/07/2013 at 18:00
My plug came away about 24hrs before I gave birth. If you are bored however you don't want to know that this wasn't till 40+14. I got v.bored waiting for baby to arrive and did loads of baking .... Our freezer was rammed!!
11/07/2013 at 18:08
I did, but it didn't start coming away until I went into labour and had been having really strong contractions for a couple of hours.
11/07/2013 at 18:29
First time not at all. Waters went, contractions started and baby was born 8hrs later.
Second time I had a sweep on the weds, then another more vigorous one that night at maternity triage after a false alarm. Definitely noticed my show then as it was massive, and kept coming as I went for a long walk around bluewater. WEES about snotty gloopy sometimes blood stained snot. It's the most disgusting thing I have ever seen
