    HI ladies,
After a little bit of advice please - sorry if TMI!

Last night after a number 2 I had a little pink discharge when I wiped, didnt really think anything of it.

Today, hubby and I were just having sex and I have more discharge but it is dark pink/brown almost red, it isnt blood but it is dark and I wondered if this was normal? I am sure that as long as it isnt blood then it is nothing to worry about?

I am 7 weeks today and symptons so far have been sore boobs and tiredness. I have today had a little cramp down below but something I would describe as a very mild period pain.

Should I worry about this and ring to have it checked out? (I am not due my booking in appointment until next Monday) or does this sound like the norm?

    Thanks in advance girls

    Hey

I didn't have this so can't really advise but I have heard that it can happen in the early stages! At the same time it might be worth calling the maternity unit / GP / even NHS direct and just checking it out - even if just for piece of mind.

when you see your GP I would push for an early scan with the EPU (early pregnancy unit). at 7 weeks they should be able to she heartbeat in a healthy bean, this way you can have some reassurance. like the others have said, some light bleeding is quiet common but you should expect a scan for any bleeding in early preg.

I had this in the early days as well, at 6 weeks and again at around 7/8 weeks - my GP said it was absolutely normal and nothing to worry about. He said look out for heavy bleeding or lots of red blood and serious stomach cramps and then it would be more of a concern - certainly wasn't offered a scan although that would have been wonderfully reassuring! Mild cramps you describe sound like the stretching pains as your uterus starts to grow - I still get that now.

ok so went to see the doctor this morning and I am not really any further forward. He said I really just have to wait and see what happens - he was nice and explained it can be normal but also that it could be the start of a miscarriage. He didnt want to send me an early scan as it would have to be through the vagina which he said being this early could cause more harm than good. he said I should wait and see what happens over the next week and if I want to can take a urine sample in for them to check it still says pregnant.
I sttil have a little bit bleeding this morning but only when I wipe - no pain, just little niggles but I cant help but think that this is going to end soon.

Am I best to just try to ignore it and wait and see - he said I could go and book in with the midwife but there is still little she can do at this stage. I am due to book in with her next Monday, guess i will wait and see how this weeks progresses.

    hi hon
if I was you I would rest up as much as possible over the next few days, maybe take a few days off work and keep feet up - I had spotting between 11 and 12 weeks gone, baby is fine but this is what i was told to do by EPU who scanned me. I had an abdominal scan by them when I was 9 weeks gone due to cramping, not sure when they can switch from internal to abdominal, maybe someone else can come along who will know. You could actually phone the EPU direct and just ask them as sometimes GPs don't really know...you may have a cervical erosion which is very common especially in pregnancy, and when you strain to have a poo or have sex the cervix can get knocked and bleed a bit. If you rest up and avoid sex or straining it may ease off honey. You just don't know with any spotting and it's really scary I know. But I think you just have to take it easy and I would go straight to EPU for advice if I was you. Depending on your NHS area they may or may not see you without a GP Referral but I bet they'll still talk to you on the phone. Big hugs xx

thanks, I called the EPU yesterday and she advised that if it continues over the next couple of days to book in for a scan.
I still have it today albeit only when I wipe and I dont have any pain.
I do sort of feel a bit deflated this morning and as though I should have other symptons like sickness by now, so cant help thinking maybe it hasnt 'taken;.
I am 7+2 today, what other symptons did you have? I have still got sore boobs and kind of feel like the odd niggle but not sure if this is more of a period type feeling or not?!
I am not stressed about it honest, just more of I dont want to wait, I want to know now!

    Hi

I had the same at 7,9 and 11 weeks.Went to EPU at 7 weeks and they said i could book for a scan but they had no worries!!They just pressed really hard on my stomach to see if ther was any pain..So i never had one as ther was no reason for concern!!..
Had a adominal scan at 9 weeks and everything is fine..They said unless heavy bleed or really bad cramps then not to worry..
Had a my 11 week scan last week and all healthy..
Think it was the intimate sessions that coursed it!!So ban them till 12 weeks!!ha!!
Hope this helps as i was worried too..

haha I will tell OH tonight no sexy time until the 12 weeks marker! I am sure he would love that!
Although if things carry on like this there will be none.

OK so I just need to go with the flow as there is no pain!

My nipples are really tingly today as well which is a strange one?!

    thank you girls.

Hiya, I had a lot of cramps in the first few weeks of my pregnancy (between about 6-9 weeks). I was told it was absolutely normal, so ignored it. I also started with some brown discharge, with some red bits occasionally at 11 wks, accompanied by some sharp pains. I went to A&E, and they wondered if it was an ectopic pregnancy.
I was booked for an early scan @ 11+3 (at my local EPU) and all was fine, with no sign of a bleed. They said the pain would have been much more severe, had it been ectopic. I also had my 12 wk scan, which was absolutely fine.
This discharge has continued, but is now more slight & only occasional, and I am now 15+4. Please do try to keep +ve & try to rest up!
If the pain worsens, or you have red blood then I would get back in touch with the EPU or go to A&E dept. x

Hi Muffin, just replied to you in your thread!
yes give them a call, they were really nice even though I was not a patient - they are about 30 miles from where I live.
Anyway, as long as you have no pain and it isnt heavy.
you could even go to A&E and they would refer you as well but I would ask your midwife to bring your scan forward - you are only a week short so cant see why they should not!
