We've just started using our grobags which are 2.5tog. Our house is generally between 17 and 21 degrees.
do we need to use a blanket on top if the grobag or should this keep H warm enough?

Guidelines are against adding a blanket. There is a guide here: www.babygurgles.co.uk/grobags-buyers-guide-i-18.html
I must admit though, at the moment P is in long sleeved vest, sleepsuit, 2.5 tog grobag and a blanket over the top because she is still chilly without the blanket.
Check babies temp using your hand on their chest or back of the neck x
No, you aren't supposed to use a blanket aswell - did you get the guide with the grobag - its tell you what tog you should use for what room temp but 2.5 should be plenty warm enough in a house with temps like that.

I never bothered with a blanket when she was in a gro bag

Thanks everyone, I've left the blanket off.
Just wondering now if I have him in too many clothes, he has a long sleeve body suit and a sleep suit on under 2.5 tog grobag abs room between 17 and 21 degrees through the night. Looking a nn's chart though this seems too much - would you agree or is it about normal?

All babies are different, B is only in a 1.5 tog bag as she is such a warm baby. I'd see how his temp is when he wakes for a feed. Its safer for him to be too cold than too hot

B wears a long sleeved vest and a sleep suit under a 2.5 tog, our room is normally about 18
