Since Friday I have been mostly in bed with ms. If I move, I vomit! Constantly feel extremely nauseous and retch when I eat or drink. Consequently, yesterday I only ate a slice of toast and half an apple and have now lost 6lbs. Struggling with aches and pains in my tummy and constipation too. Got a Drs appointment at 10:30 with ny GP but not feeling too hopeful as I spoke to an out-of-hours Dr on Saturday who said that they couldn't do anything unless I was dehydrated to the point where I'm unable to pass urine for more than 8 hours! If I got to this stage then it's a hospital admission for a drip. She said no anti-nausea meds were safe for the baby.
Did anyone experience this and if you did, was there any help available?
Just feeling pretty lousy and down, thanks in advance xx

I didn't but didnt want to read and run. There are a couple ladies on here who have suffered badly I think munchkin is one, so hopefully someone will come along soon. I know that they have had meds though so maybe there is something available.

Your ooh doctor is speaking a load of rubbish. There are at least 3 drugs safe for use in pregnancy. I had extreme ms in first trimester. I tried 2 different drugs before being admitted to hospital for 6 bags of fluid! It is hell. I literally felt like I was dying. What I would say is do try and eat tiny amounts of bland food if you can and water little and often. Don't gulp as it'll make you sick. Just take in what you can.
Not eating or keeping fluid down is more dangerous for you and the baby than the medication.
I basically couldn't keep anything down for a week before I was admitted, and even then it was because I took myself to a&e where they immediately admitted me! The main test is if you lose 10% body weight or have ketones in your urine.
Be tough with the dr. You have to be otherwise they don't do anything!
Mine eventually eased at about 24 weeks this time, but once I was hydrated and the drugs kicked in it was manageable at least.

Thanks WH, I will try and be tough with them as can't cope with this for several more weeks! The ooh Dr just made me feel like I was making a fuss over something 'normal' so hopefully the GP will be a bit more understanding! Said to my H last night that I felt like I was dying! I'm sure it will be worth it in the end but it's hard to remember when feeling so ill.
Thanks porkchop and MM for your replies too!

Basically what WH said. I am 33 weeks now and have been sick daily since 9 weeks. I have been on my anti sickness meds since 9 weeks and took then with both of my previous children with no ill effects.
Another tip for getting fluids in is ice lollies. I was having about 4 a day at one stage x

Exactly what wh said, I was signed off work and took a variety of meds as the doctor was threatening me with being admitted to hospital so I stayed in Bed for days and took tiny sips of water all day long

Just got back from Drs, been prescribed some Metoclopramide for a week, if they don't help then Dr said I'll need to go into hospital. She said that there are no proven risks but nothing is licensed as 'safe'.

Well no, in pharmaceuticals pretty much no drug is licensed in pregnancy but the ones they use have been safely used for many years. I hope it helps. If it's no better in a couple of days do go back.

I was told the same - I had the same , and it was terrible. By 16weeks I'd lost 12% of my pre-pregnancy body weight which was a real worry. It wasn't until I was 26w pregnant (and huge) that I weighed the same as I did when I fell pregnant.
I took a variety of drugs, none of which really worked, but mine was also often caused by acid/reflux too which really was horrible, managing that helped the sickness.
As Munchkin says, blant boring food, teeniest amounts - every little bit is a bonus. I also agree, the baby will take what they need from you which is why you end up feeling so totally hurrendous.
I really hope that it gets better for you soon.
