I thought it was backwards, 5/5ths engaged is only just starting to engage 1/5th is fully engaged but I may be getting mixed up.

depends on if she meant 5/5 palapable or 5/engaged, if palpable than that means she can still feel 5 fifths of the head (all of it) so not engaged at all, if the engaged then it means fully engaged, its confusing cos different mws do it the other way to each other...i was also told that usually second babies don't engage at all until labour as the pelvis has already been widened they don't ahve to slowly work their way thru, btu my mw cld've been talking bollocks lol x

haha same as miss i, i was 3/5th (not sure which way tho) but he never came down in labour either and just stayed there, which is probably why i only got to 2cm, he wasnt' putting any pressur eon my cervix

i have no idea, i think they just like to confuse us and keep us on our toes, highly annoying tho, they shld have one way and stick to it cos its very frustrating not knowing which way is up, so to speak lol.

I was almost fully engaged at 34 weeks and even more so 2 weeks later, now so deep can barely feel baby's head at all but nothing. So I don't think it is much of an indication I'm afraid.

A friend of mine was also made to leave work early because baby was so engaged but still ended up having to be induced.

    Sorry
