We thought we'd settled on Henry, but the more we say it with our surname the more we realise it doesn't sound right with our surname (ends in ley) Which is starting to right off anything ending in y or ie. It was an issue when we were choosing girls names, but we've got that sorted now.
We want something that is a proper name, but not a common one like Dave or Steve (or Josh or Jake or Jake or whatever else is in the current top ten). I quite like Oliver but hubs doesn't like Olly. We also know a Ben, a Zachary, two Josh's, a Jacob and a Jakob, a William, a Jake, a Jack, a Robert and a Thomas. Too difficult!!

How about Charles, that's my Hemrys middle name and was nearly his first!
They were our top names
Well I recommend Noah, obviously...!

Our shortlist was Alexander, Edward and Dexter.
(I also like Hector, Arthur, George and Kit)

Thanks, this is fab. I've written down my favs for hubs to look at later! There must be something we both like! x

If you don't want popular then steer clear of Oliver, one of the top names, well it was last year.
I love Adam, Dominic and Steven :)

thanks! It would seem that i just know loads of little boys - makes this really hard!
03/04/2013 at 13:45
All of my cousins keep taking the names I love! Makes it really hard. We like George Arthur for this one, family names. Could you look at your family tree for inspiration? That is how we have chosen our girl middle name xx
03/04/2013 at 13:54
That's where we got Henry from. Other family names for boys include Walter and Ronald. Seems a little like child abuse to me.

We've got Dylan, Max, Oliver, Joseph and Samuel on our shortlist but the only name that both H and I really love is Seth, so I think that's what we'll go with. My family tree contains lots of Isaac Abrahams - whilst I like Isaac, I'm not sure about teaming it with Abraham!

Have you considered Oscar?
I like Henry but then I am biased on that. We really struggled on boys names for ages. I still love Ned and am trying to find a way to get it in there.
Or how about Max, Alexander, Benjamin, Harry, Thomas, Rupert ( I like Rupert but not got the balls to use it and sounds funny with our surname )
03/04/2013 at 14:54
we have a Luke Joseph
03/04/2013 at 16:31
My absolute favourite boys name is Jonah. I also love Noah although that is getting more popular.
I would love to have Jonah but it doesn't go with our surname
