Hello! We've all been very quiet over the last few weeks so I am not sure who is still around.
My update - despite having 3 follicles at the last scan the 3rd round of clomid was unsuccessful. We were only going to have 3 rounds but consultant has suggested another one, though when he sent me the prescription I see there are 2 repeats on it. We just have enough time to squeeze in this round before H goes back to the UK at the end of May for 3ish weeks. Hoping this round of clomid doesn't make me feel as miserable as the last one, start the tabs tonight.
How is everyone? LC where are things up to with the IVF? Hugs to everyone x

Hi diamonds sorry it was unsuccessful. Glad you can get in another before your h goes away at least it's another shot. How you feeling about another round of clomid? Or do you just want to get on with the next stage?
I'm on my first clomid cycle should ovulate this week I think. I had a tiny bit of EWCM yesterday but none today so not sure what's going on. I'm temping and doing OPK's so hopefully should know but we're dtd every 2-3 days anyway just in case.
Hope everyone else is doing ok xxx

Hi Browny. Another round or 2 of clomid means we don't have to have the IVF talk again yet. What dose of clomid are you on? Having EWCM is a good thing as I believe it is quite common for clomid to dry it up. Is your cycle going to be monitored? Good luck x

I'm sorry too diamonds that it was unsuccessful, hope the next one brings you a positive result, and without making you feel miserable too.
Browny-keeping everything crossed for you this cycle.
I had my second consultation a week or so back, and got my AMH results which weren't good...below 1 and so show Premature Ovarian failure. Gutted. Not had Aff for 76 days now and just feeling really numb with it all. Our next appointment is beginning of July with a specialist to discuss IVF with egg donation and also discuss whether I should be starting HRT, not what I was expecting to be doing at 34. On Norethisterone to see if it will kick start periods, but with POF only a small chance it will work I think.
Thanks for starting the thread diamonds, I've been lurking a little lately, but not felt in the right place to post.

Diamonds - i guess its a good thing then, and i really hope you dont need that chat iykwim. I'm on 50mg for 3 cycles then I have an appointment to see how I get on. Not having scans but having bloods done for 2 cycles to check for ovulation.
Looby - so sorry to hear about your low AMH results. I hope you are ok xxx

Looby, big big big hugs to you. Back in Jan I also got an amh result of less than one and to say I was devastated was an understatement, I hardly spoke to anyone for 3 days. I remember my specialist emphasising that there is a margin of error with the test and it does not tell you about the quality of your eggs either, not that it really made me feel much better. I know our situations are probably a bit different but I do know how gutting it feels to get a result like that, all I can say is we are here if and when you want to talk. Keeping everything crossed for you that the Norethisterone does kick start your af.
Browny hopefully the clomid will sort out your cycles. Good that you have a review appt after 3 cycles.

Diamonds - Really sorry about your latest cycle. How do you feel about having more goes at clomid? And what is your heart telling you about IVF?
Browny - I hope that clomid is doing the trick and you ovulate soon. Well done for all the dtd!
Looby - So sorry to hear your news. POF is one of the things that scares me most and I still worry they will discover it when we begin IVF. What a shock for you. Did they say how long since your ovaries began shutting down? A good friend has just had IVF with donor eggs (but she is ten years older than you) in Spain. The law is different there and the child will never be able to access details about its biological parent, plus she was too old for treatment here and the waiting lists were long at around 6 years for donor eggs in her area. If you want any info from her just say. Good luck lovely.
AFM - Our new house is lovely. I love love love it. I'm in a much better frame of mind about getting pregnant. I feel that it will happen for us when it is our turn and worrying is doing us no favoirs. I'm only 25, I'm healthy and I have time on our side, so we are just enjoying lirselves at the moment and TTC has really taken a back seat. I think we should have our first cycle this summer, but as yet haven't had the start date through, so ate trying not to think about the IvF too much as I'm sure it will be stressful enough when the time comes.

Hi Ducky - I am feeling a bit more positive about the clomid as last cycle was the first time I got 3 follicles, so finally it started doing what it is supposed to do. At this stage I am happy to try a couple more cycles to give it a really good go. IVF is a big step and will cost the equivalent of about 7k for one try, so happy to exhaust the clomid first. Glad to hear you are in such a positive place at the moment.
Hello to any lurkers out there, particularly KK, LC and MB x

Ducky - glad to hear you're doing so well and being positive. It's a hard achievement in our situations so well done!
AFM - had positive OPK's yesterday and today so we're dtd as much as h can manage lol. We go on holiday on Tuesday so all the TTC for this cycle will be over before we go away which means we'll be able to have a proper relax whilst there. Other than the tiny amount of EWCM on fri I haven't had any so I did some reading up and came across a supplement called 'fertileCM' which is supposed to increase your fertile cm and also help with improving your lining and libido! Sounds like a miracle drug to me! So I've ordered some to try next cycle with some evening primrose see if it makes any difference. X

Hi girls, thought I'd stop by. Hugs to Diamonds and to Looby...... I've never heard of POF, what tests did they do?
Diamonds, getting 3 follicles is great and may it continue.
Browny - I have a jar of the fertilCM too but never used it, the size of the tablets freaked me out lol. H takes the supplements for men.
Ducky, glad your settling into your new home.
Ive had a month off and what a difference to my stress levels. Stopped taking temps after day 6, didn't get any positive OPKs, didn't bother charting but oddly feel better for having the month off. Waiting for AF to arrive and then I start the 100mg of Clomid. However, I don't know if I should DTD whilst waiting for the scan...
H has arranged to have another SA which I'm pleased about.
I asked a Spiritual/medium woman I know of (but she doesn't know me IFYSWIM) if she could see any pregnancy occurring at any time. She told me there would be but it's taking its time and its not health issues that's holding us back its circumstances. Well, yes the circumstances part is true as we make intensive plans to overhaul the house and garden this summer so that we have a second bedroom and not a junkroom/office and a totally decorated house. So...watch this space......lets see if it rings true...
have a good week girls xx

Morning all, thank you for your messages x.
I think I'm Ok Browny, I've had the tears, and talked it out with H and our parents and we have a lot of support behind us. Our next appointment isn't too far away now but know that it's not going to be a speedy process. It's not having my periods that is taking it's toll as we can't even feel like we're making the most of the teensiest chance we have.
I can empathise with you here Ducky with lack of AF x has your consultant mentioned having the AMH test at all? I hope it isn't the case for you, but would help put your mind at rest. I'm not sure how long ago my ovaries started shutting down-my periods have been erratic since coming off the pill, but that's quite normal in the whole scheme of things. I have had a blood test to see if it is a genetic cause, but I don't feel it will make any difference knowing. My thyroid levels are due to an auto immune cause and don't know if that's related either. If I think of any questions for your friend I'll let you know.
Diamonds-sorry that you have low levels too, I hope that there is a margin of error in our results. Have your periods been regular? Clomid has never been suggested to me, but I think that's because my blood tests have shown high FSH levels.
MC-POF is similar to early menopause, but may still have periods. There is an anti Mullerian hormone test that we were offered which tests ovarian reserves (essentially the number of eggs remaining), I also had a scan which showed very few follicles compared to normal.
I'm pleased your stress levels have improved, it really can take over our lives. Sorry, I'm not sure about DTD before your scan x
20/05/2013 at 11:38
MB - I'm scared now that these tablets are going to arrive and be huge! Good to hear your stress levels have gone down. I don't see why you shouldn't dtd before the scan but not sure. If your doctor hasn't said not to then I would assume its ok as surely they would have said not to?
Looby - glad you have support around you. Really hope you get some answers at the appointment and have a way forward that is acceptable to you both xxx

I haven't been posting lately as I'm totally in that place of nothing happening and nothing to say. I've lurked a little bit though, so thought I'd pop back in to say hi.
Diamonds - sorry your 3rd round was unsuccessful, but yay for another go.
Browny - hope you're getting on OK with the clomid.
Looby - so sorry about your news, what a shock that must have been to you. Fingers crossed the specialist can offer something to make you feel more positive. Huge hugs x
Ducky - Love the PMA! I think I must have missed that you were getting a new house, how exciting!
Madcat - Glad you're feeling much less stressed, hope it has a positive effect on TTC!

Browny, in all honesty they are probably no bigger than the pregnacare tablets...... I just didn't fancy them.
