I haven't dyed muslin's before but dyed other clothes and used the dylon brand that you can do in the washing machine was so easy to do and also they came out fab! I can't see why you can't dye them to make them look a bit better! :)

Forgot about Dylon *facepalm* I'll have to go and find some nice colours! Thanks x
Your welcome don't forget you need salt too!

I didn't know that, would cheapy table salt be ok, do you think?

Yeah you have to use salt in the washing machine
Got this from the website :
You need to use salt with all DYLON dyes except Wash & Dye (it’s already in Wash & Dye) because it opens up the pores of the fabric and allows the dye to be absorbed.
I just used table salt when I did mine and they turned out lovely :)

Great, I haven't used it before so I would've ordered out without knowing about the salt. I'll have a look at the Wash & Dye as that seems the easiest! Thank you for your help PC x

Your welcome :) Just follow the advice on the packet and make sure you do a few empty washes afterwards to make sure all the dye is gone!

I've not dyed muslins but I did dye a load of baby clothes using dylon machine dye. They came out lovely and bright and I'd definatley recommend them. As PC said you do need salt in there too but if you just buy a big bag of cheapie stuff it does the job :)

I can vouch that PS's vest came out awesome!

I hadn't thought of dying vests, I'm sure I've got a load of white ones in storage. I know I'll do some in purple but I'll chose another colour as well.

I dyed muslins for the same reason, I used the Dylon hand dye stuff, so straightforward. Also used Asda smart price salt. They came out fab, would recommend doing!
