Hello. We were hoping you would tell us, have you had an early private pregnancy scan? If so, how many weeks were you and why did you have it? Please do come and tell us about your early scan if you’ve had one, and let us know how many weeks you were, why you had it, and how much it cost: we’d love to hear all about it.

We had lots of early scans due to recurrent missed miscarriage..
I've lost track but I think we had them at 6 weeks, 9 weeks, 11 weeks, 16 weeks and we have a 4d one booked for this evening.
My main reason was that we'd got to 12 week scan twice and found out that the baby hadn't grown past 10 weeks... I couldn't bear being pregnant for 3 months again and then finding out...
Costs varied- our first one was included in a private consultation at a private hospital & was £300 all included, but the first others have been around £80-£90 through a private clinic- definitely worth the cost though!

We had a private gender scan when I was 16 weeks pregnant this was a gift for my birthday from my parents.
The scan cost £60 and it was a relaxed atmosphere to take my daughter to find out if she was getting a brother or sister.

Hi I had one at 8 weeks as my previous pregnancy had been a missed miscarriage. I also had one at 16 weeks to find out the gender. I would also have booked one later on just for peace of mind but I had too much amniotic fluid so from 28 weeks I was scanned with a 4d scanner at hospital every week which was fantastic So didn't need to book another private one. I highly recommend them and you can get them quite reasonably priced if you look on groupon.

They are so much nicer than the standard 12 and 20 week hospital ones as they are purely for indulgence so you can ask lots of questions and look at lots of things whereas in the hospital they are only looking for problems and you don't feel like you can ask extra questions or take your time looking at baby .
I’d had 3 miscarriages at 6 weeks so I booked a 6 week scan on my 4th pregnancy, was about £100 but gave us peace of mind as we saw the heartbeat. I now have a lovely little 14 week old 😃

I had one at 6 weeks as I had been bleeding a lot and had had a chemical miscarriage the month before. It cost £120 but was well worth the reassurance it gave. They were so friendly and caring and really put both myself and my husband at ease. I would certainly recommend getting one if you are worried in any way.

We had an early private scan with both babies at 8 weeks to check viability. We wanted to reassure ourselves that baby was growing well. It cost £130 and was money well spent.

We had two private scans before the 12w NHS appointment: one at 7 weeks and one at 9. We had miscarried the year before at almost 10 weeks and I was having quite traumatic and vivid nightmares once we got pregnant a second time about it all happening again. I needed the peace of mind. It was £40 for a 15 minute session and the staff were just lovely.

This is my 12th pregnancy, I had two live births, so we opted for early scans for reassurance.
We had one at six weeks, it cost £59 and they could only see the yoke, no foetal column bit heartbeat, so we had a free rescan at nine weeks.
We then opted to have the Harmony blood test which was £399 with a scan, this happened at 10 weeks.
I then had botox for migraine and was a bit worried immediately after that, so went for the quick reassurance scan, which was £39.
All of our scans were with Ultrasound Direct and absolutely worth every penny, so much nicer and more detailed than the NHS counterparts.

We have literally just had a private scan at 7 weeks today as I had some light bleeding in the night and was panicking. They found a nice strong heartbeat and the bleeding has stopped so we are hopeful. If all progresses well we will also get a private scan at around 16 weeks to find out gender as we would have to pay at the NHS scan where we live and so the private scan only technically cheaper!

Too right I had one, worth every single penny . We had to go through fertility treatment so it was piece of mind for us both and my other half was too scared to get his hopes up in case it resulted in miscarriage. I was 6 weeks and a heartbeat was detected . My other half has been like a different person and over the moon he has a baby on the way now his minds put to rest :)
