Everyone having a good weekend so far? We went to the seaside yesterday followed by a farm. It was a long day and I'm still recovering now! Today we're taking F swimMing and then round my BIL and SIL's for dinner.
Havw a good day all. Will try to pop back later.

Sounds like you have a good but busy Easter weekend! Enjoy the swimming and meal, its always good when others cook for you.
We ended up cooking the BBQ in the oven and on the grill yesterday as it was too cold outside. Was still nice see our friends. They are just beginning their TTC journey so it was nice to share some things and give them the folic acid and pregnancy tests we had left. Off to town today to try and find something for my fil for his birthday, then I've got to do some work before going back to work on Tuesday.

WG - your day at the seaside sounds lovely, as does swimming a dinner out. We are going to the seaside on Tuesday and I'm really looking forward to it.
Bunny - Oh boo for cold weather but I hope your indoor BBQ was alright!
AFM - we went car shopping yesterday and still think our favourite is the Hyundai i30. It won't be brand new but a lot newer than what we have. We also went to John Lewis this morning to see if the iCandy Peach can fit in our corsa. It can! But it is a squeeze. Now we aren't sure whether to get a new car before the twin bubs arrive or when I go back after mat leave and we have settled to my part-time finances and providing for the twins.
Here is Mr Ducky in the likely car, he has been a bit excited with all the car and buggy shopping!

WG - sounds lovely but tiring! I hope you get some relaxation in!
Bunny - food with friends sounds fun and glad you had a semi-bbq!
Ducky - have you definitely decided on icandy? it's so hard! I also have to get new wheels but want to before baby is born as our car is tiny and very old!! are Hyuandis good? I'm so clueless about cars
AFM -on day 2 of boring clear out flat for baby stuff mission. My corridor was absolutely full with rubbish and have already given 4 sacks of clothes to charity! So boring but will feel good when it's done! also trying to help the husband with it as he's such a natural hoarder (his parents are ridiculous!)

Ceejay - I'm clueless about cars too! The Hyundai i30 was What Car (or Which Car? Told you I'm clueless) of the year last year and compared well to similar cars of its size (class?) like the new Ford Focus, VW Golf and Audi A3, but is far more reasonably priced. That is pretty much all we considered was how it performed and the price. Our trusty corsa is getting on a bit and we could do with something bigger, but not huge as H commutes and is the world's worst Parker.
Yes we have decided on the iCandy - there aren't many doubles that take two car seats at once so our choice was pretty much limited to the iCandy Peach Blossom, the Bugaboo Donkey or the Oyster Max (or a couple of doubles in Kiddicare that were so long you needed wing mirrors and power steering). The second seat on the Oyster seemed really low and I kept kicking it. The Bugaboo donkey just seemed too big and wide, so that left the iCandy!

Ducky nice car! I also know nothing about them but will be looking for a newer car in the summer as mine is 3 door and it was a pain in the backside getting k in and out of it. I'm surprised that you didn't have more choice in a double buggy but at least that made the decision easier!
Ceejay it does feel good having a good clearout, although probably better once its all finished with! 4 bags to charity is impressive.

Sorry I have not been around a lot...work is still mental busy and I've been quite busy in general. Boo!
WG - sounds like a nice weekend so far? Has your bleeding calmed down now?
Bunny - so British, isn't it...an indoor BBQ! Good luck to your friends. How are you feeling?
Ducky - nice work on the car - we need to do that soon but are saving up some money first. So you're definitely set on the Peach. I'm glad someone here has made a pushchair decision!
CJ - good luck with the clearout - we are doing the same, and my H is the same, it takes a lot to get him to part with all his old cr@p!
AFM - starting to feel a few more little flutters, although not proper kicks or anything. Picked up the crib that I won on eBay the other day, so that's another thing on the list. Still researching pushchairs, and still can't decide, although now I've gone back to the Buffalo or Cameleon 3, as I'm now not sure about the iCandy Peach (can't put my finger on why though). It's very early obviously but I am going to the Baby Show next week, so if I can get a discount, I might buy it then.
Have a nice Easter everyone, my weekend is very quiet which is exactly what I needed!

Bunny - that's a shame about having to bring the BBQ indoors, typical bristish bank holiday!
Ducky - I love car shopping! We bought a new one when F was about 6 months old. Mainly to fit all our stuff in the lot when we go on holiday!
CJ - I hate having to clear things out, you're right it's boring. I like the feeling of satisfaction afterwards though. I did clean out my under sink cupboard yesterday :-)
Gavi - my bleeding had stopped now but I'm just on edge all the time wondering if it'll start again. Enjoy the baby show, I never went last time as I think it was on right at the very end of my pregnancy. Buggy shopping is hard work, there's do much choice out there. I think we might need a double for a few months.
Another busy day for us yesterday. Today H is playing golf so me and AF are going to have a relaxing day and I might even do some baking. I've had an awful cough for a good week or so and now feel full of cold/hayfever. Boo.

Happy Easter! Yay to being able to finally eat my Easter eggs. H has stopped me from eating them earlier as it wasn't Easter yet. He's a spoil sport!
Hi gavi. Not feeling too bad, getting over the CVS results debacle and focusing on the fact that we have midwife in a week and a half, then the 20 week scan isn't far away so I think I might relax a bit more after that. That's great that you are feeling more flutters. EBay is great for some baby bargains. When k was born as she was small I got loads of next and m&s babygrows with scratch mitts built in on eBay for peanuts, and as they were the first sizes they were in great condition. I'm so glad we've got a pram, I don't envy you trying to pick one there's far too much choice!
WG what are you thinking of baking? I hope you can have a relaxing day today and that the cold or hay fever eases. All the rapeseed has come up around here in the last couple of weeks which is irritating for hay fever.
Hope everyone is having a nice relaxing day today. My parents, sister and her boyfriend are coming up today and mums bringing dinner so I've just got to do a quick tidy up around the house before they arrive.

Happy Easter Sunday everyone
Ducky - I will check out that car! I'm the terrible parker so didn't want anything too big! I will check it out. Glad you've decided on the Icandy - I suppose your choices are quite limited, which maybe makes it easier?
Bunny - me too with my 3 door - plus my favoured pram doesn't even fit in the boot with the wheels on apparently! I hope you have a lovely day and nce work on getting the family to bring food!
Gavi - yey to flutters!! So exciting when it happens, although I didn't seem to have flutters but straight to gentle movements. Which baby show are you going to?
WG - very pleased the bleeding has stopped, your head must have been all over the place. I hope you have a lovely relaxing day ahead of you. What are you baking?
20/04/2014 at 12:03
Sorry how rude of me, Happy Easter! Hehe.
Bunny - I've just made an apple crumble. Going to have it after our roast later with some ice cream, yummy! Hope you have a lovely afternoon with your family.
CJ - You're right, my head has been all over the place and I still don't feel like I can relax and enjoy things yet. I should be able to phone up for my test results on Tuesday so fingers crossed there's nothing bad been picked up. Enjoy the rest of your day.

Ducky, I'm not sure if this is of any help, as you've decided on the iCandy, but the Mountain Buggy Duet can have two car sits fitted at one time. I noticed it when I was looking earlier as we might need a double to use for a few months and I liked the fact I can have a car set attached with a toddler seat too. Apparently it's not as wide as some side by sides - I think it's roughly the same with as my Quinny Buzz!
