Just being nosey really and seeing how you are all doing. I miss chatting yo you all on 3rd tri!
All is ok here. If i top P up with a little formula before bed she goes 5-6 hours and then i bf her around 3am so dont faff with doing formula. Generally just bf in the day. Reflux seems to be pretty much under control althougj she cried all yesterday afternoon which nearly drove me doo lally! I am going to lots of groups to get me, P and G out and about. I feel so much better in myself if i get out in the day. Looking at 4 walls and rubbish tv with a crying baby can drive you mad!
Anyway hope you are all ok!

Things are ok. I feel really strange without h but each day gets a little easier.. Little man seems to want to do nothing but eat and it's looking like I'm in need of getting the next size bottles out!
Sounds like your doing well with feeding now. X
Hello . I mis you all too! Will reply properly later from laptop But we are doing really well, thank you.
MM, you sound so much happier now, I am so glad the reflux is settling xx
20/06/2013 at 13:55
BB it definitely does get easier. H almost gets in the way now!! Ah bless him. It does sound like a growth spurt!
M glad all is ok.
Yes i do feel much happier now. I hate seeing P in pain. She still has profuse diarrhoea most days but the GP doesnt seem bothered all the time she is gaining weight and following her line. Will get her weighed next week.
Are any of you in Kent area and fancy meeting maybe at the Kiddicare Lakeside meet on 15th July? BW i think you have said you are going?
20/06/2013 at 14:34
Lovely catch up MM, am glad things have improved. We are going to the Lakeside meet!!
All is well here, both kids are currently asleep so I am here!!!
Sophie is 9 weeks today and doing great. She is still exclusively breast fed which after last time is amazing. She had her tongue tie cut on 10th June and now we are feeding without shields. I am stupidly proud of both of us!
No idea what she weighs, poor 2nd child syndrome. I will try to weigh her next week.
Her 8 week jabs went well.
During the day she sleeps a fair bit still and is generally happy when awake though she has her moments!!
She likes to be awake all evening then tends to sleep from 9-10ish. She has done a couple of long sleeps, she did one of 7.5 hours! but generally does 4-5 hours has a feed then goes back, wakes again for the next feed then sleeps again until about 9 a.m. if not disturbed by her big sister!!
She has slotted right into our lives and I love my life.
Here is my gorgeous girl!

Well, we are on day 6 and things are (dare I say it) getting slightly easier each day as I get to know E and he gets to know me. H is encouraging me to be proud of each small achievement day on day and is constantly reminding me that it hasn't even been a week!
We had some terrible nights when we came home from hospital - E wouldn't settle in his Moses basket and screamed for hours each time H or I tried to pick him up. However the last two nights have been better and last night I actually had to wake him to feed as he was so settled! I put a towel around the basket to make it more cocoon like and when breastfed put a muslin under my boobs and places that in his basket with him so he could pick up on my smell. Seems to have worked but still doubting myself and that it's just fluke! Only time will tell.
As for feeding, we are persevering. I never realised how hard it would be. E is jaundice and needs lots of feeding therefore but he just doesn't seem that interested! He will only feed for an average of 10 mins each time so I am making sure that he takes a feed every 2 hours so that although he feeds little, it's often. Midwife weighed him yesterday and after loosing 10.8% he put on 60g in 1 day. Will weigh him again tomorrow when midwife comes round. E is latching on a bit better but sometimes it takes time. My boobs are huge and so sore! Have been rubbing in so much lansolin cream!
Emotionally in myself, it's not been easy. I lost a lot of blood at birth and my iron is so low which I think is contributing. Today is the first day I feel a bit more positive. I have had a terrible time of feeling guilty about each decision we make and questioning myself about everything. Midwife assured me that it's all a learning curve and not to beat myself up about it. Hopefully as each day goes by my confidence will improve. H has been the most incredible support and I am dreading him going back to work middle of next week.
Having said all the above, am completely besotted with E! H and I spent a couple of hours this morning before getting up just cuddling and staring at him! Could do it all day!
Sounds like the rest of you are doing well x
Get the photos up ladies!

So good to hear your all doing ok...
Ve she is beautiful...
Here is my little man...sorry it's so
20/06/2013 at 14:59
Ah VE Sophie is lovely! Well done on the feeding. You should be proud of yourselves! Lovely to hear you so happy!
Ferbs it really does get easier each day. Breastfeeding is incredibly hard so well done for persevering. If your boobs are full but he isnt feeding much can you express so your supply doesnt go down? You are doing an amazing job so dont doubt yourself. P is my second and i am still not sure what i am doing!
Yes i am really happy! I feel very very lucky to have been chosen to be these two beautiful girls'mum. They are my whole world and life is hectic but great.
Oooooh yes lets do pics!! Here is Poppy!

Gorgeous babies ladies!
Ferbs you are doing amazingly. I am with mm, I feel like a first time mum again most of the time!
20/06/2013 at 22:56
Gorgeous babies ladies. Glad everyone is doing well.
ferbs- still very early days yet for you. Do what you think is right, everyone will voice their opinions whether you want them or not so go with what feels right.
S is 5 1/2 weeks now weighing around 15lb something and almost too long in 3-6 month babygros! Everyone thinks he's way older. A friend of a friend was cooing over Rusty's H the other day asking how old etc but didn't ask me as she assumed he wasn't new. We seem to have developed a cycle of good day, bad night, bad day, good night. Some days like yesterday he was crying his heart out from lunchtime until evening but then slept 10.30pm- 4.15 am. He's slept a lot today so not optimistic about tonight! Reflux is ok. His dose needs increasing I think. Cranial osteo seems to habe helped with winding him. He's sick a lot where as his big bro was never sick. He seems to have baby acne at the moment and one of his ears is still curled up so I have brought a splint for it but haven't the heart to put it on yet. Has to stay on a month. Like MM he has one bottle of formula last thing and the rest Bf. He's been sort of lifting his head for a few weeks already. He's just started smiling whilst awake but regularly laughs in his sleep. Here's a pic of a sleep grin! Sorry it's huge

Lovely to read your update. WH, we must get a pic of ours together very soon! H is porking up quick.
We are doing ok here. A tough time with feeding and I stopped bfing on Monday after two weeks. Life with a four year old, newborn and running a business is now a tad more workable.
I am still amazed at how well I've recovered post section and I'm enjoying getting out and about more now.
Heidi is doing great, feeding every 3/4 hours in the day and a big more at night. The early morning feed is a killer though as Matilda is woken up by Heidi. Whereas H goes back off, M refuses. It is rather testing. M had taken well to being a big sister though.
HV is coming in the morning, so hearing tests I guess.
And a pic of my girls.
21/06/2013 at 07:09
Ah WH he really is gorgeous! We also seem to have that pattern and it alternates. Yesterday was a good day so not holding out much hope for today!!
Hi Rusty - beautiful girls!! I am not surprised you stopped bfing! I keep toying with the idea as P wss taking an hour to feed but now she seems to have got a bit quicker so will keep going a bit longer if i can. What a nightmare about M being awake for ages. I am lucky with G - she would sleep through an earthquake!
I have also recovered really well from my section. I think you have to when you have an older child.
Lovely to hear all your updates! Xx

sounds like everyone's doing well!
Mm... glad the feeding and reflux is getting better now, p is gorgeous!
bexy...glad things are going well and your little man has a good appetite, he is beautiful!
morph...hope things are good with you!
VE...Sophie is such a cutie,! you should be proud, your doing great and its bloody hard work!!
ferbs...glad things are getting easier, everything your saying is completely normal, it's such a massive change to your life and takes some getting use to!
WH...Aw what a lovely smile, hope the nights are all good nights soon and the sickness stops soon!
Rusty...very pretty girl's you have there! Glad she is feeding well and that you are recovering so quickly!
As for us, life with 3 children is hard work! P is 7 weeks and fitting in nicely! Night times are ok, waking and feeding every 3-4 hours at night and settling back to sleep ok but i tend to fall asleep with her in our bed which i hate but im so tired! Day times are all over the place feeding & sleeping wise but we're doing ok apart from the colic and a few minor BF issues! Will try to add a pic but had trouble last time so may not work!
Great to see how everyone is and hi to anyone else lurking! :-)

Another little Poppy....
22/06/2013 at 11:20
Sounds like you are doing really well. I dont know how you cope with 3 and bf too!!! You must be supermummy!
22/06/2013 at 12:25
MM...my older two are at school which helps, we mix fed for a while and I found it harder finding time to sterilise, make up bottles etc! They are also great little helpers too!
22/06/2013 at 22:29
Hi ladies! I wrote a nice big reply for this thread a couple of days ago in the early hours of the morning while i was feeding William, but then MD ate it because i was on my phone :-(
We're doing really well now i think. It was a bit scary to begin with, I was convinced i didn't know what i was doing and was second guessing myself all the time. I also think i was expecting too much from W and from myself too early. Because he's such a big boy, i forget he's still only little. I had a nightmare with feeding. I desperately wanted to feed him myself, but unfortunately due to not being shown how to latch properly, W tore one of my nipples to the point i couldn't let him anywhere near me. I felt really down that i'd failed him and had to give him formula, but after a good chat with H and the MW and HV, i feel much better about the situation, and i'm now combination feeding, although i'm not sure for how much longer as he can barely go an hour and a half on a substantial feed from me, but last's a good 3 hours on formula. But even then, i think we might have to move to the hungry baby milk as for the past few days, the formula feeds aren't lasting him and he's getting 5oz each time!
H had to go for surgery on his knee last week, which meant that neither of us could drive for a few days and I had to do a lot more in the house than i probably should of because H wasn't physically able. I have now managed to drive a couple of times and it doesn't appear to be doing me any harm, so that's a big step forward. i'm also managing to walk a bit further too which makes me feel pretty good too! I'm still on my pain killers and iron tablets, but i'm hoping that i can cut the pain killers down soon.
Here's a few pictures of the wee man. (he's quite the expressionate child)
23/06/2013 at 01:00
He is lovely rkb! Re driving have you checked you are insured. Some companies do specify so many weeks after section. I hope H is recovering well.
