I had a growth scan yesterday, am now 36 weeks. I was told I have too much amniotic fluid. They said I was only borderline but that they'll repeat scan in 2 weeks and do a gtt test. I had one at 28 weeks which was fine. I have googled and am now worried! They scanned baby very carefully and all seems well but I wondered if anyone had any experience of this?

I had this at 30 weeks - I was only just over the upper limit like you, and spent the next 4 weeks panicking about it. However from all the reading that I did on it, I think that the two main things to be concerned about are premature labour (about 36/37 weeks or so) and a prolapsed cord during birth. However if they are keeping an eye on this for you then you are in safe hands.
I had a re-scan at 34 weeks and my fluid level was slap- bang back in the middle of the normal range again. So fingers crossed that this happens to you.
I was also told that if the baby has just had a massive wee right before your scan (lovely, eh?), it can make the fluid level seem excessively high. So it could also just be that?
