my son has a confirmed case of slapped cheek. I am 22 weeks pregnant. I have had a blood test done last night to see if I am immune but won't get the results for another week.
i am really scared and worried about my baby. I understand if I am immune then all is okay, but what if I am not? If I'm not immune and baby gets fuild in organs or other problems, can this be treated? Will may baby be okay? Is there things. They can do to help?

Hi muse, I'm sorry to hear that you are going through this worry! Im guessing people have not replied because they don't know the answer. Slap cheek virus isn't something many people have heard of I guess.
i looked it up on the NHS website for you which is imo very trustworthy... They say that 60% of the adult population are immune already. It says that it can cause pregnancy complications (fluid build-up in the baby & higher mc risk) if you catch it before 20 weeks pregnant but you are 22 weeks now so the risk is lower for you. It also says that there is no evidence to suggest that catching slapcheek during pregnancy causes birth defects.
all this being said... I am not a medical professional & don't know the ins & outs of your medical history & current status so it really is best that you speak with your dictor or midwife to get answers to your questions.
i hope everything goes well for you.
