I've just tried W on SMA's extra hungry milk to see if it will help him with his current insatiable hunger, and it's made him go crazy! he's suddenly got very excited and is lying on a mat on the floor flailing his arms and legs about and cooing away to himself quite happily. i don't think i'll be giving it to him again, but has anyone else tried their baby on extra hungry milk and had this happen to them? He's perfectly fine with the normal SMA gold cap formula!

Well.... After him going crazy, I put him go his crib awake, he put himself to sleep and just woke up at 6am. That's pretty good going for a 5 week old!

Must be something good in it then! My little man sleep from 8 til 3 am and then 3.30 until now! Amazed I am!

There must be, but I really didn't like how it affected him prior to his sleep!
That's really good H is sleeping that long! Do you have him on the hungry milk? Or normal formula?

Sounds like he was having fun! Perhaps because he wasn't hungry he was happier? I'd go with it especially for that sleep!

Aaron slept through from 6 weeks and he was on hungry baby! Although phoebe wasnt much later and was bf lol

Rkb no just normal aptamil here... He does guzzle a lot during the day though!

I don't see how that's a bad thing to be honest...sounds like pretty normal baby behaviour to me. That aside, the hungriness could be the 6 week growth spurt a tiny bit early?

P is spending at least half of her day either on her playmat or in the bouncy chair cooing, wildky kicking her legs, shrieking and getting really excited. Maybe he doesnt normally do this if he isnt getting quite enough milk? Have you stopped bfing or is he just having the odd ff? X

I think it is a growth spurt. I don't suppose it's a bad thing if it's not doing him any harm, but I've never seen him go like that after his bedtime feed, it gave me a bit of a fright. I put him down in his crib awake in the end up and he went to sleep by himself!

I'm still trying to BF. Keep saying I'm going to stop, but can't seem to bring myself to do it. He get's bottles during the day too, so I've always thought he was getting enough!

He is at the age they start expressing themselves a bit more too so could be coincidence.

J was on hungry baby milk (not until around 9 weeks though, as HV was keen to just try bigger feeds, more often if needed), but it didn't send him loopy. He also slept through from 5 weeks. Hungry baby milk was a last resort to make him more settled in the day.

WH he has been a lot more expressionate there last couple of days. It's beyond cute to watch!
AK my HV isn't keen on the hungry milk at all, and tried to discourage me from using it.

I think they worry about it causing constipation.

She did say about it upsetting their tummies... After this mornings nappy, I don't think that'll be an issue! :-S

Ha, we never had that issue either.
