I hope you don't mind me posting like this, I was just after your experience really.
A has been on nutramigen for 10 days now and while she's a lot more settled and comfortable in herself, we still have an hour or 2 of pretty much constant crying. I know all young babies have a witching period of an evening but this seems to be more than that.
I remember you previously saying that the crying in the evening was due to a build up of the wrong milk but did you find it stopped once you changed the milk? I'm just sooooo confused by it all!

Bumping this in the hope you'll see it x

Just my two pennies worth but it took a good month for P to stop the hours of crying. It got better gradually and she cried a bit less each week. If its no better after a month you might need to try Neocate which MissusS is the expert on! Sorry for hijacking! X

Thanks Maisie Moo! I appreciate your two pennies worth! She has been better in the day but only slightly better during the evening - we still get at least a couple of hours of screaming though. I wasn't sure if it was because the milk wasn't working or something else. I guess I just need to give it a bit more time to see. Thank again, I really appreciate you sharing your experience x

If its better than it was i would say stick with it. If its just as bad maybe go back xx

No it didn't stop straight away. It took 2 weeks to notice an improvement and then he gradually got better and better until maybe a month in?
I remember speaking with our paediatrician and she'd just been on a dairy allergy seminar. Apparently the said it can take up to 4-6 weeks for every trace of milk to leave the system!
Keep at it, if you see an improvement but still in pain after a few weeks you may need to try neocate. It is a battle to get it prescribed but you've tried the nutramigen so there's no reason why they won't. Good luck!

Thanks MissusS - you're paediatrician sounds a lot more clued up than mine. I don't know if you saw my other post but he's discharged A today because I said she seemed better on the nutramigen, he's quite happy it's a cmpi. He totally dismissed the fact that's she's started being sick again and said the screaming in the evenings was just a touch of colic! I feel like I'm back to square one all over again.
