    Hi NattyNik,
I hope you dont mind me bothering you.I was hoping for some advice/ info.
Ive got my first appointment on fri, to look into my miscarrages ect. And im not sure what to expect
Will it just be a chat and blood tests ?
    Hope your well hun.
    Love Koala X X

Well the appointment went well, I had 1 blood test yesterday, Waiting on a scan date to come,
and like you said hubby and i having the other bloods done on mon, as our hospital only do the chromosome blood tests on mon and fri before 10 am.
I feel a bit more positive, I asked if its worth taking higher folic acid and asprin, but he said wait and see.
But as ive already been taking asprin im going to carry on as i would hate to loose another baby if it does turn out to be something as simple as that.
I hope you get on ok on mon, Will be thinking of you
    Love Koala X X :\)

    Hi Koala

Of course I don't mind you asking :\)

After our 3rd mc we had our blood taken straight away through the EPU. But if you haven't had this done already then they'll probably take them at your first appointment. Unfortunately the results do take a long time to come back (8 - 12 weeks) because of the chromosone test taking so long as they have to grow the cells. The other tests don't take as long but we weren't given any results until we saw the consultant after the 3 months. Your OH will also need to have some blood samples taken.

Apart from the bloods it was just a general chat really about my cycles and symptoms, my mc's and anything else that might be relevant (I had a huge list of questions!).

We didn't see the consultant until our results were back so were also told what the next step was at that appointment (trying again with high dose folic acid and aspirin). But as you won't have any results back at your first appointment they may just tell you to keep trying with the folic acid and aspirin even without your blood results back. It's a personal choice whether to wait for your results or to keep trying but we were never advised to stop trying and definitely wait for the results (although this is what we chose to do).

Is your appointment at a recurrent mc clinic with a consultant?

Good luck and I really hope your results come back ok and it's just been incredibly bad luck. Let me know how you get on on Friday - I'll be keeping you in my thoughts.

    Thankyou for that,
My appointment is with a general gyne clinic ,as the dont have a seperate recurrent mc clinic at our local hospital. Im not sure if it will be a consultant i see.
I was a bit worried i might be seeing the wrong guy so gp's secretary checked with the gyne clinic.
They told her to tell me not to worry, and they try to deal with recurrent mc as quick as possible.
So feel a little better. Ive also been taking a low dose asprin just in case.
Im glad to see your hanging on in there, even if there have been a few hairy moments.
Wishing you all the luck i can send. I will let you know more on fri.

    Hi Koala

I am so pleased to read your update! Haven't been online much the last few days but have been thinking about you.

I'm really pleased they're looking after you well and getting on with all the tests.

Like you said, as long as the Dr has given you no reason not to give the aspirin a go (asthma etc) then you may as well try it. It has to be worth a try and at least you will feel like you're actively doing something that may just help. I found that really helped me - just knowing I was trying something different this time. It gave me renewed hope.

I hope all your results come back clear but in the meantime that you get your sticky BFP! :\) Let me know how you get on and good luck.
