S is now nearly 3 weeks old and we are still feeding which after last time is fantastic. We have a few hurdles, we are using nipple shields, she has a tongue tie, no one looked until I asked the hv at 2 weeks and there is a 3 week wait to get it snipped and now I have a crazy fast let down.
She chokes and splutters and gets really angry and upset. So far I have tried laying right back, virtually sitting her on top of my boob and sitting her up to feed all with limited success. I don't want to try cabbage leaves or anything yet as I worry about reducing supply too much! Any tips oh lovely ladies of MC?

Try hand expressing just for a few mins each side, the flow should settle, keep her as upright as poss for feeds because she will feel like she's drowning otherwise. Just hand express for a little bit then latch her as normal, this should all probably settle after she's had the tt snipped x

I'm the same, the only thing I have found is expressing before feeding. Although its pretty much impossible - Angus wakes up starving!! The only time I manage to express before feeding is first thing in the morning.
Other than that I just have to keep taking him off to wind frequently, as he slips back and starts sucking in air. All I can really say is that it gets better as they get bigger, although he often still chokes on it to start with he does cope with it better now. Keep an eye on your latch though - it really affected ours.

Took me that long to to type CP has replied!!! A had a TT too - getting it snipped helped his latch, but not really my let down. Its still ridiculously fast, and wyhen feeding on one side it starts the other!!

Thanks ladies, she has just refused point blank and screamed for 20 mins, I feel crap.
Tried to express and hardly anything came out compared to when she feeds.
Her latch is crap without the shields, will work on it once the Tt is snipped.

Glad her TT has been diagnosed. Have you thought about going private for it to be snipped? my friend had it done privately for her daughter, although the NHS wait was closer to 8 weeks than 3 weeks. I guess it depends on how much it's affecting her/you.
Re the let down, I echo what the others have said she expressing a bit off, it is difficult when they want to be fed straight away - and that's without throwing a toddler into the mix! I'd sometime let A latch on and once the let down started if he wanted to come off, I let him and just used a muslin to absorb the worst of it. It will get better, it was about 8 weeks for me, but the norm is by 6 weeks at the latest.

We may have to go private, will see when our appointment is for and take it from there.
Have just expressed with an electric one for 5 minutes and that seems to have helped.
Bg with me it only seems to gush out when she is sucking, I don't leak when I take her off or when she pulls away just when she is latched. This bf'ing is hard!

The only worry with expressing is I can't do it when out and about...

That's true re out and about.
Have you looked on Kelly Mom?
It is tough, it will get easier though x
