I’m 20 weeks pregnant I’m excited and happy I’m having a baby I don’t stop thinking about it and how much I can’t wait but I’m also feeling very depressed where I just lay in bed and cry , I’m not with my partner and he isn’t involved as he has met someone new. I just feel so down and lonely I just don’t know what to fmdo I just want to sleep i Go to work and can’t concentrate because I just think of going home and crying my self to sleep can anyone tell me if they ever felt the same or how to deal with it

Hi hun. I would recommend going to the doctor and maybe see about therapy, it sounds a little like prenatal depression. The only thing I can recommend other than that is a good cup of tea, some cake, and a good TV series (I recommend Brooklyn 99). This will take your mind off things for a while.

Do you have a support network outside yourself? Parents? Friends?

i'm sorry you're feeling so low. Seriously hon, pregnancy hormones can give us the most intense waves of emotion, and you sound really sad, so i'd agree with Vampire - could well be prenatal depression - please tell your GP or even your midwife on your next appointment, and try and do something nice for yourself x

Have a chat to the midwife, I went through a phase week 20 - 23 where I was just so miserable, I'm not saying I felt the same but just that pregnancy can get everyone down no matter how much your baby is wanted and loved.

Maybe try and plan a movie night with friends, or as someone else said, cake and a good chick flick!
