Got to ask, down to curiosity more than anything.
I see people saying they have been TTC for 2 years, 3 years, etc.
Why would these people have not been referred for fertility help?
If you are having regular cycles, do they just leave you until you have had enough, and at that point refer you?

It may be they don't want intervention yet. Some people never want it and look at it as if it's meant to be then it'll be. Or they've had the basic tests done and nothing is wrong officially with either partner.

I was TTCing 1st time around for about 3 years. That time is from when I came off the pill to actually getting a BFP. It was over a year before I got referred and then all the tests and waiting about for the next steps take a while

Both myself and friend conceived 1st month of trying for our 1st's so wrongly or rightly you assume it will happen the second time, not maybe as quickly but will happen.
My friend went to the dr's as they really had tried everything after 2 years so was the last option. I went to be Dr's after 1 year, it is private here so happy to see you whenever, I just went to make sure everything was ok.
We are both now going through IVF as will not happen naturally for us (for different reasons).

Also if you have unexplained fertility you may have to wait longer to be offered treatment or there may be a long wait depending where you live even if its identified that you will need assistance.
Lucky charm - how are you? Have you started ivf? Hope you are doing ok lady, thinking of you and hope you are finding it ok?my ivf emby is currently snoozing on my chest :) x

Even if you have been referred for treatment it doesn't always happen straight away. There are lots of things that they try before going to IVF/ICSI and even with that things don't always work straight away. Testing etc can take years, generally you aren't referred until you have been trying for 12 mths as well so you can easily get to 2 yrs.
We were trying for 3.5 yrs however we only went to the doctor at around 3 yrs as had been burying our heads in the sand that each month would be the one.

It took 7 years until we got referred for IVF treatment, that was after several operations and clomid. I kept getting sent away and told to keep trying, when we first started as I was only 25. It was a long fight but worth it in the end.

We were ttc number 1 for about 3 years.
That's from coming off the pill to bfp. In that time we had loads of tests, I had two lap and dyes, an ovary and Fallopian tube removed. H had 3 sperm tests. Everything takes time.
We had our date to start icsi through about two weeks before our natural bfp in November 2007, the date was August 2008. The month my daughter was born!
