I seem to remember this from first time around with I.
S is coming up to 4 weeks old. She is happy and content apart from the evenings when she fusses at the breast, cries more and has no interest in sleeping. She will then feed around 10 / 11 and go to sleep.
Has anyone else had this? When did you start a bedtime routine and putting them down earlier? I have forgotten everything!!!
She is doing well overnight feeding, taking a while to settle (up to an hour) and then sleeping well. Oh and in the day if she is on us will sleep most of the day away!!

Fussing in the evening is totally normal, that's when they cluster feed. 4 weeks is teeny, they just want to feed in the evenings as the milk is fattier, most do this till about 8-12 weeks......Isaac did this till 6 months , bed time routines with L we did bath story and feed and bed from 3/4 months. With Isaac I just took him up to bed with me at 7 and I watched tv/hitched till he went to sleep then I went to sleep. Introduced bath story bed about 6/7 months

Thanks CP. Thing is she doesn't eat anything in the evening, she only fusses... She will eat around 6 or 7 then again at 10ish nothing in between apart from a quick chew then she screams at me. She is putting on weight so am not worried in that respect but I thought she should be feeding all evening but she doesn't.
She does have a TT which should be snipped next week but I don't think it is that as she doesn't fuss at the breast any other time.
We didn't BF so I can't comment on the fussing. However as far as routines went we didn't and still don't lay down a routine (e is 18 weeks). She does her own routine from around 6 weeks and would remain the same for 10-14 days before mixing it up a bit. E always went to bed with us at 9 regardless unless she asked to go earlier. In the last week she's decided 7 is her time so we've started facilitating that now.

Could it be colic? G had this and would cry for hours every evening and there was little i could do to comfort her.
P also sleeps all day and then wakes up grumpy about 6pm and cries on and off some evenings....

As you know, I didn't breastfeed but I quite vividly remember O being a nightmare in the evenings - so much so, that's what scares me about having another as she'd often be very upset for hours at a time that we'd end up having dinner with the hoover on as it was the only thing that kept her quiet.
As for routines, we did the whole bath, bottle, story from about 5 weeks old although it was at different times of the evening as would depend on her last feed and when she woke up. Up until around 12 weeks, she was going to bed around 11pm. She gradually brought this forward herself.
Hope the TT snip goes ok and makes things easier. How are you doing with the shields?

The shields are fine, just need to remember to carry them around with me. Even with them her latch is terrible. Am worried I am pinning too much on her getting the tt sorted re latching on better guess we will just have to work on it next week.

Will read up on colic too,.

This sounds like O. Constant feeding all evening (all day, some days...) with much more fussing on the breast. I think he's quite windy, so am trying to wind him thoroughly, and if he's particularly bad, I'll give him some dentinox (blleeeeeuuuuurrrrrrrrgh).
We only started on a bedtime routine with C once she'd established her own little routine, so probably around 4mo.
ETA HOW are our babies 4wks old?!?

Seriously, time is flying by! I love dentinox, we used it with I, minty fresh breath!

Piper is still a pain between 6 and 8!
