I know everyone is different but just curious as to the general patteand of when you got your first AF.
i know breast feeding is supposed to delay AF but I'm not sure for how long Really so interested in real life experiences.

No personal experience, but I've been talking to some friends recently and it was about 10 months to a year after birth for each of theirs.

I'm still BF and 8 and a half months in still no AF

My returned when LO was 13months. I exclusively BF for a year and then introduced cows milk at 1year and fed 50:50 for a while. I dunno if I'd have continued exclusively feeding fir longer, if AF would have been delayed longer?

About 9 months with #2.

AF returned at 9 months, I finished feeding him at 10 months but AF coincided with him dropping the night feeds and eating more food in the day, so cutting down on those too.

#1 - 9.5 months, was new years day and we were staying with my parents who live in a hamlet in the scottish highlands, nothing open anywhere and I hadn't been expecting it, ended up cutting up some nappies and using them as sanitary towels !
#2 - can't remember but probably similar
#3 - about 8 months, I wasn't expecting it so soon this time as he still feeds once a night even at 12 months whereas the other two slept through from 12/13 weeks and I still feed him 3 x in 24hrs whereas with the girls I was definitely down to only 1 or two feeds a day.
Edited to add, all 3 were exclusively breastfed as their only source of milk until they went on to some cows milk around 11/12 months (well #3 won't take cows milk but we're still trying!)

I'm one of the unlucky ones. I'm pretty much exclusively feeding although he does have the odd bottle of formula of we are out and I've had regular AF since he was 8ish weeks old.

I exclusively expressed until about 10 weeks and af arrived 2 weeks after I stopped

I exclusively breastfeed & didn't introduce any solids until 6 months but my af still appeared after 5 months

Thanks everyone, seems like a range but more to the longer end. My friend worried me saying at 6 months ages the only one from any groups without AF so I was getting worried but seems early arrival not the norm.
Having said that ill prob be one of the lucky ones who gets it early!
