We got C his first pair shoes yesterday as he'd been walking well for about a month. He was ok at the fitting, got a little ratty after trying on a few pairs but refused to walk whilst in the shop. Since we've got him home he's cried every time his shoes are on. He just stands rigid to the spot and won't move. He did walk a little in them yesterday. This morning he's cried his eyes out when I put them on to go out. please tell me this is just a phase and he will get used to them? He's currently sat having a snack with them still on but he won't move. thanks

I'd probably take him back tot he shop if you can and get the sizing double checked. He probably does just need time to get used to them but it could be they're hurting him

What shoes are they? Are they too hard? As they need soft shoes to start with. Clarkes do a good range called pre-walkers.
I made sure N could walk in them in the shop before I bought his first shoes.

Typically since I posted he's been walking around fine!! Tripping a little but guess he's just got to get used to the size. Thank you both. They're from clarks the lady said to get the walkers rather than pre because he walks more than anything.

I was just about to say how about rewarding him with a sticker or something when he does do some steps in them but sounds like he's got used to them now
