Just for fun as things are slow here, wondering what your LO's first words were and when they said them?
E is 8 months this week and making the usual dada/mama and babbling sounds but the past few days he's been making a sound that's very close to Dexter (our dog's name) and H is convinced that will be his first word.

Is it bad that I'm not really sure!? I know he said the odd Mama/Dada noises, and lots of babbling before he was 1, but didn't actually say proper words until he was nearly 2.

Joshua's was 'no' at about 12 months, can't remember what Jacob's was although I know it was a couple of months later than his brother.

we had mama and Abbu (dad) first, but her proper word was 'dirty' when she was playing with the bin at about 9 months old

Other than the usual mama, dada...we've had car this week (1 year) ....we've also had lots of yeahs! (Can you tell we're from Essex much )

Dada was definitely a first, as was 'all gone'!
Now at 14 months we also have oh dear, doggy and og (dog), teddy, Daddy and oh no. What we don't have is mummy!!

Possibly 'wow', & 'oh dear' at around 12 months but I'm not sure if they count if she didn't know what they meant!

I can't recall exactly when but I remember saying to Matilda "You need to say "Nanny" for Christmas or else she'll make you eat sprouts". She definitely said it before then!
