I've now invested in some long sleeve bibs but so still seems to manage to get some food sneaked down the neck!
Breakfast is fine as it's just porridge and fruit purée so everything has washed out fine, dinner however, all his food seems to be orangish (carrots, butternut squash, sweetpotato etc!) and it's stained the neck line of a couple of his tops and vests. I've tried vanish spray stuff and vanish powder in with the wash but it's still there. Any tips for getting it off? Also how do I avoid this? I don't wash his clothes the minute I take them off so it's drying on and marking it. My mum said to rinse them but then I'm not going to put wet clothes in the washing basket! Am I missing something obvious? His bibs and muslins are quite stained too but I'm not really bothered about those, but I hate it on his clothes.

Watching with interest as vanish is no longer working for us either!!!

Have you tried soaking clothes in vanish before you put them in the wash? I still have to do this with some of Molly's clothes and it works well, just wam water in a washing up bowl with some vanish for an hour before I put the wash on. Napisan is also good for whites

I just take her top off before she eats if its something that will stain. Our bibs are quite loose round the neck with the velcro tabs so I tie first then stick the velcro, gets it nice and tight (without hurting her obviously!) then we also use a rubber bib with the tray but in to catch food so it doesnt sit in her lap. She also fishes bits out later! lol

Hanging things in the sunshine works brilliantly for removing orange stains!

Oh Porkchop I as laughing so much there at her looking around in there for extras!
I've not soaked first, I'll try that next! I was O's stuff separate from ours and do a little wash just for him so now his sickness is better I only need to do washing maybe every 3 days so sometimes it might have been sitting for a couple of days.
I'll need to come up with a master plan!
Alaina - thanks I did read that on here. We have had some lovely days but I live on he east coast of Scotland so sunshine is a rarity!

I find that soaking stained bits in Ace stain remover before washing does the trick, even on tough stains. I normally put a capful of ace and a dose of usual detergent in a washing up bowl with hot water and leave to soak. O is a mucky pup and regularly ends up covered in tomato based sauces and chocolate so I've salvaged a lot of clothes this way ;-)

Haha, Porkchop S is exactly the same. For dinner most nights he just wears a nappy and a pelican bib and has started rooting around in there for missed bits of food. It resulted in him chomping down a bit of beetroot soaked in yoghurt with cheese crumbs tonight!
Sunshine works great but honestly, if it's orange - he eats in just a nappy!
