I hope no one minds me starting today. Not much going on here except the constant slight sicky feeling and being super tired. I am sleeping like a log!! I told my very good friend yesterday, first person (other than H) i've told outloud and it made it seem a bit more real. Won't be telling many more people for now. Have booked a GP appointment for next week.
Hope you are all well and weekender i hope you feel better today and less worried. I am always here if you want to talk about it. I had a mini-breakdown to H last night about how worried i was and it suddenly seemed impossible to get to 12 weeks. Trying to keep calm and think day by day but it's hard.

Thanks I do feel a bit better today, felt quite nauseous last night and I'm still off anything remotely healthy (H was delighted when pizza was served up for tea last night!) My early scan is two weeks today, I can't find anywhere that would o a private scan before 7 weeks anyway. So I might as well hold on for the two weeks.
Sorry to hear you are having similar feelings, will you get an early scan too? Glad you are sleeping well though xx
Hope everyone else is well

Morning everyone. Happy Friday!
AR- I hope you're okay- first tri is so horribly long and all you can do is take it a day at a time, but I know how hard that is when all you want to know is that everything is okay in there!
Weekender- Same to you, I hope the next 2 weeks pass quickly and you will soon be seeing your baby on the early scan!
Not much to report from me, so glad it's Friday, first day back at work after a week off and thank goodness it's quiet but I've struggled with tiredness this week! We're off shopping tonight and I'm hoping to get some maternity jeans (I'm having to do the elastic band trick on my regular jeans but so want to stay out of maternity clothes for a tiny bit longer!) and maybe if we have time go to Ikea to have a look at some baby bits. Hope everyone has a lovely day!

I'm glad you feel a bit better weekender. Eat what you can is my motto. With P i could barely eat until 16/17 weeks and when i could it was plain bread or pasta...couldnt stomach meat at all.
I'll bebooking an early scan for 8 weeks (assuming i get that far). No way will i stay sane to 12 weeks!
02/08/2013 at 09:24
Missed you Rose. Don't hold off on the maternity stuff, it's soooooooooooo comfy. I lived in leggings and tunics last time.
02/08/2013 at 09:54
Weekender, I think you're right to hold off on the 2 weeks. It will seem slow at first then it'll be here all of a sudden!
AR - I'm a bit panicky too. The more I think about it the more I desperately want it to work out so badly. Which I am not sure is very healthy for me! My sister had good news at her scan and has had countless problems, and us being 3 months apart would be so wonderful, and there's other timing issues that make 'now' so perfect. Silly really. How much is an 8 week scan? I want to book one too. It's £99. I simply cannot wait until 12 weeks. Plus, I have this weird thing about twins and I want to be sure it's not. Some friends teased me a lot about later births and multiples born after a gap, so I just want to know. Again, *if* we even get that far. I expect to see AF every time I go to the loo.
Rose - Let us know what lovely things you find at Ikea!!
AFM - itchy, flaky scalp, nausea kicks in most around 3pm 'til I go to sleep, slightly sore wotsit still, tired, CM, but most of all EXCITED AS HELL. And I want to tell the world. I am so excited about having my husband's baby. I know that sounds goofy!! He'll be a fantastic dad.
Any feedback on telling people? Particular if you're convinced it's all going to go wrong? I want to tell my 3 closest friends and hubby's closest friend. Particularly because they'll think it's weird I'm not drinking (copious amounts of) wine every weekend...

I was telling a friend how I was so poor last time (off sick the whole pregnancy) I only had 2 outfits to leave the house in. So every check-up, antenatal class, GP appt for iron, everything, I was always in one of two outfits. I had put on 5 stone and felt wretched. I felt quite sorry for Young Me when I sat and thought about it! Still, best thing I ever did :)

AR, it seems like forever stretching before you but it goes quite quick, it's 6 weeks since I got my BFP and I can't believe that time has passed!
Weekender, glad you're feeling a bit better. I'm on a two week countdown too so we'll try and hurry up time together lol we're eating rubbish too, hubby was delighted to have a kebab the other night.
Rose, I'm well in maternity clothes! It's your first though? Was definitely much later last time but everything seems to have gone outwards already. They're sooo comfy though.
Counter, I've told people, quite a few tbh but they're all people I'd tell if anything went wrong so why not? We're waiting til after 12w scan to officially announce though we've both nearly slipped up on fb! A lot of my rl friends are also Internet friends though so when I posted my BFP they knew then. Really nice to share my happiness and worries with others. Is this your H's first child?
Afm, I'm fine, tired still but symptoms have deffo settled down and trying to make sure I don't let that worry me! Somewhere around 10/11 weeks so its normal.
02/08/2013 at 10:36
counter - my early scan will be £60 at the clinic i've found locally. Been recommended in the past by a couple of friends as i was going to book one with P but ended up with an NHS scan at 7 weeks so didn't need one. There are no rules on telling people. I told quite a few people early with P as i knew that when i had the mc the previous month i'd needed support. If you'd tell them anyway if something went wrong then go for it. It's completely up to you.
Morning Isis. Glad you're feeling well.
02/08/2013 at 11:28
Ah, I looked again, harder this time. Much closer to me and $65. Never heard of them (or any of them). Is there any checks I should do? I would hate to be told something wrong... (oops - sounding anxious!)
02/08/2013 at 12:09
Weekender - have you tried baby bond? i went there for an early scan, i also had my NHS one at 6+3 and it was a dot with a heartbeat
Counter - Once we had the early scan we told a few very close friends and i told my work but thats only because im such high risk, then when we had the next scan at 9+3 and all was ok we told all of our family (aunts cousins etc, as parents already knew)
having a really sicky day today, got all glammed up for work as its one of my colleagues leaving Doo's tonight and ive just sat with my head down the toilet for an hour and now i look like crap lol, oh well was worth a go!
Question - is anyone showing yet, as even though the bloat is wearing off i most definitly am showing
02/08/2013 at 12:41
Nlh, I think I'm showing, I'll take a pic for you later! If you don't know me I'm probably not but its the shape that makes it look like a bump to me as it starts from under my boobs, it's like my whole abdominal wall has moved out in preparation and I've no chance of holding it in.
02/08/2013 at 12:51
AR it does sounds so surreal to actually say it out loud! Hope you feel better soon, and weekender you too - you'll both have seen my absolute meltdown last weekend and I must say I feel much better for it so hope you both stay as sane as you can over the next few weeks xxx
Hi Rose hope you have a nice time shopping for baby bits!!
Counter I would defintiely book in for a scan if you have the cash, I know it's only a there and then confirmation but for me actually seeing something will hopefully make it seem a bit more real. Also fingers crossed you have a better experience this time - it's good to hear it's all worth it though! As for tellign people I've told those that I would turn to if anything happened - our families, some close friends (mine and hubby's) and just my boss at work so I'd say go for it.
Isis I'm sure I've heard that your symptoms should eb settling down about this time so sounds normal to me, loving the sober kebab!
NLH oh poor you hope you feel better for later, at least the toilets should appreciate your effort.. I'm only 6+3 so still in bloat phase I'm afraid!
AFM the nausea has kicked in - joy! I feel pretty rank but ahven't been sick - it's more like an all day hangover without the end in sight but I am wierdly reassured. 1 Week today until my early scan woo hoo.
Hope everyone ahs lovely weekend plans - I am doing nothing except food shopping then spending the whole weekend on the couch with my duvet and the dog - bliss xxx
02/08/2013 at 13:00
Just popping in to check up on everyone but no time for personals sadly as work crazy busy...on a Friday!!! Has anyone else had much in the way of spotting? I had some in week 6 and had an early scan at 7+3 so knew everything was okay but I had bright red blood again last. It was a small amount and no more afterwards. Trying not to worry (and succeeding in the main!) but its never nice to see!! My GP said she bled in all 3 pregnancies.
Anyhoo, hope you are all having a great day!
02/08/2013 at 13:02
Hope everyone is well.
AR - Its hard to keep it secret isn't it? First tri does drag on but hopefully time will start to go faster for you soon, it has for me.
WE - I'm sure cravings for salad will come later?!
Rose - Hope your shopping trip goes well. I had a look on new look's website and there's a lot of choice on there.
Counter - I would tell your closest friends, it won't change anything and you need support (they may guess if you aren't drinking anyway!!)
Isis - Glad you are starting to feel better.
NLH - Oh that's typical! Hope you manage to enjoy yourself. I am definitely starting to show in certain outfits.
Grif - Glad its not long until your scan. Your weekend plans sound great!
AFM - 10 weeks today!! Trying to sort out the house and start packing as we are going away for the week but currently lying on the sofa! At least I won't have to worry about showing when we are away!
02/08/2013 at 13:50
Grif, I'm a skank, I love kebabs lol maybe that's why my husband married me?!
Sweet pea I think you can get spotting around the time your period would have been, does that fit date wise?
MrsV, enjoy the holiday!
02/08/2013 at 14:16
I love kebabs, and in recent years have had them sober more often than drunk. My H thinks it's hilarious and often shouts 'not kebab!' when we start the 'what shall we have for tea....' conversation. He can have it no more than once every 3 or 4 weeks. The big meanie.
02/08/2013 at 14:59
here is a quick bump flash,
02/08/2013 at 16:22
What a cute little bump. I like it!!
02/08/2013 at 20:04
SP I've had spotting on and off for a couple of weeks. browny beige so not too worried and I know I had a scan a week ago and all is well.
Id rather not have any though to be honest!
