Morning ladies! Surprised there isn't one of these already started this morning! Hope we are all doing well?
The weather is miserable here today. But atleast its a little cooler.
Got my mum coming over tonight so that i can help dye her hair. Nothing much else planned for today. MIL was asking last night what we were going to be doing on xmas day. She wanted to know if we were going to be doing it at our house or going to theres, and to be honest im really struggling to work out what would be best with a 1 month old. What is everyone else doing?
Baby out vibes for Noodle!

Morning MS- w was 3 weeks old at Xmas. We stayed at home and had my mum and brother round. It was easier for me to be at home as still getting used to bf, no routine of sleeping yet etc. meant they could help H cook too which was handy!
AfM meeting a couple of friends for coffee this morning.
Was googling risks etc about ELCS last night- perhaps shouldn't have as an article came up about a doctor in America who decapitated a baby!!! Was a little bit traumatised by that!!
Baby out vibes to noodle. Who is next after noodle? Is it BG?
Goodness I've not really thought about Christmas yet. Last year we said it'd be out last year visiting my parents and in laws on the day, and we'd donut at ours this year. I don't really like the thought of that now though, may use the fact we're hoping to be in a new, bigger house by next Christmas as an excuse to start the new tradition next year.
AFM - Had a Jalfrezi with an extra kick last night, the waiters kept asking me if I'm sure, and kept assuming it was for H. I managed it fine, although it doesn't seem to have made much difference to baby. Today I need to pop out to the shops and may pick up a few new nursing bras then this afternoon I have hairdressers - the final thing on my check list before baby is allowed to come!
Baby out vibes to Noodle!

JT - missed you there. I'll dig out the leader board now, I think there's someone else though. Poppyseed's ELCS is next Friday.
Maybe step away from google, and take comfort in the fact that that didn't happen on the NHS!
06/09/2013 at 09:08
BG yes google is a scary tool!!
Sorry the curry hasn't worked. At least once your hair is done you know you are all ready to go. Hopefully not too long to wait.

28/8 - Noodle
13/9 - Bridget
22/9 - poppyseeds (elcs 13/9)
26/9 - Noggin
3/10 - Popcorn
17/10 - Jelly Tot (elcs ??)
This must be missing some though, I'm having a mental block trying to work out who though?

MS- Our baby will be about 2 months come christmas. Luckily our parents all live quite close and I have NEVER cooked a Christmas dinner and don't intend to start a tradition this year either. Whether my brother has my 2 nephews for Christmas dinner at my mums determines what we will do this year as that will determine whether there is space for me, H, SD and baby there! Otherwise it might be a microwave meal!? haha. We will decide nearer the time when I know what to expect a little more.
JT- Definitely step away from Google! Have a lovely day out for coffee today.
BG- Sorry the curry didn't seem to do anything but maybe baby is just being kind and letting you get all of your jobs done before kicking things off!? Fingers crossed things start soon for you.
AFM- Think today is going to be a slow one. Friday's are always really quiet but 1 colleague finishes early this Friday and the other has taken a half day. I'm going to have to talk to myself all afternoon!
06/09/2013 at 09:18
MS - we've already had the Christmas conversation, it was so long ago I've since forgotten where we are going! I think it's to my Mum's - either way I am not cooking again this year!
Jellytot - Sorry to hear you are having wibbles about ELCS/VBAC. In some ways it's so much harder now where there is almost too much information available to us.
BG - Sorry to hear the jalfezi didn't do the necessary last night! I too am doing bra shopping this morning, I've told A she's got to help me - I think taking her with me is going to be a disaster!
Well, I am now officially on maternity leave! Hooray! I am going to pop back to the office for an hour next week to meet my cover and explain my handover notes but I'm not telling H that - he would have a fit! It is a good feeling, I had some nice pressies from the team and a John Lewis voucher so that might go towards my nursing bras that I plan to get today. I have a few birthday presents to pick up as well this morning and I want to get something for my Mum for having the girls all week so I'm thinking of picking up a nice White Company scent diffuser. She likes their stuff. I am thinking I should get some nursing PJ's as well for the hospital and after. Seems it's going to be an expensive day!
Baby out vibes for Noodle, hope she's ok.

Sorry Sam, missed you there - hope today doesn't drag for you. At least it's Friday!
06/09/2013 at 09:25
Sam - can you sneak off early?
Noggin - I've had to wait until my A is in nursery, the questions in changing room and the fact he'd insist on trying them on too would make it impossible to take him!
06/09/2013 at 09:32
MummyS- I havent even thought about christmas, we may do something with my parents and the IL's together my SIL is due nov also so we shall have to see
JT- no stay away from google, it will always make you look at worse case scanerio. I can imagine its a tough choice to make but it needs to be an individual choice as to what suits you and your family. Have a lovely time this afternoon and try not to let it worry you too much. Is there a VBAC midwife at your hospital who may be able to help you?
BG- have a good day, extra hot jalfrazi your hardcore!
samjh87- can you sneak off early? If not make the most of the peace and quiet!
noggin- yay for 1st day of mat leave, sounds like a busy day ahead enjoy!
AFM 41+2 still no signs, walked 3 miles last night bounced on the ball for ages post sweep- nothing! Had a few cramps but they eased off overnight bboooooo
06/09/2013 at 09:38
Noggin- It does sound like it could be an expensive day but at least the voucher can take some of the strain off your bank balance. Have fun bra shopping and enjoy your first day of mat leave!
No Chance of sneaking off early, plus if I stay until 5 it means H will have to stay till 5 (he works with his dad a few minutes away) which means he will get paid a full day otherwise he would finish early and not get paid for half a day!
Noodle- sorry there is still no sign. Really hope things start for you soon! x

MummyS. We are due on 28th November and have said Christmas is just us at home. People can visit if they like but morning or afternoon. We will share the cooking but it's just for us. B is with his daddy for the first time this year. He has been with us the last couple years but said he could take B away this year to his parents. Looking forward to a quiet one!
JT, just say no to google! Sorry you are struggling making a decision xx
BG, enjoy your pampering, I need my hair cut badly!
Sam, hope it does drag too much!
Noggin, enjoy your first day of maternity leave :)
Noodle, lots of baby out vibes to you x
Afm, 28+1. Sat in docs for my GTT. Been here just over an hour, 45 mins to go! Meh.

MS - Christmas already!!!! We will be going to my mums, she is an hours drive away. I doubt we will stay over so just a day trip.
JT - step away from google and just think about what is going to be right for you. I was the same about my ELCS but I'm so pleased I'm going ahead with it. After everything I thought I do not want to go through what I did before and a section is the best thing for me to avoid that.
BG - hope the curry kicks in for you and pushes things along. Have fun being pampered having your hair done.
Sam - hope today doesn't drag or you.
Noggin - yay for being on maternity leave!!
AFM - yes BG my ELCS is next Friday, and according to the head midwife at my appointment the other day I am the only one booked in so I should go down by 9am unless any emergencies come in of course. OMG this time next week I'm going to be in hospital having my baby, eeek!!! I have to be there at 730am. L is going to her grandma's so she can be taken to school, bless her she starts on Monday. What a week for her!! Apart from that I think I should pack my hospital bag, don't you....? I'm feeling good although huge movements which feels like my waters are bulging and a lot of pressure but other than that it's al good.
06/09/2013 at 10:32
PS- Arh this time next week your day will be a LITTLE different! How exciting!!
06/09/2013 at 12:07
MS - we have always gone to either our ILs or H's aunt's for our Christmas dinner and I don't plan to renegade on that tradition this year! We have been discussing ways to include my family a bit more though as my Mum and Dad generally go out for Christmas dinner on their own. Ideally I'd like them to spend it with us and our ILs (we normally just see them in the morning) but I'm not sure if they'll want to, even though they'd be more than welcome. It's my favourite time of year, I can't believe I'll have a baby to complete it :)
JT - if ever there was a reason not to check Google about something, I'd say that article was it! Enjoy coffee.
BG - sorry the curry didn't work. I think baby Gump is trying to be polite and waiting for baby Noodle first ;)
Sam - quiet Friday afternoons aren't so bad. I used to use any quiet time at work to write baby lists!
Noggin - congrats on starting your maternity leave, lovely feeling! Enjoy shopping today.
Noodle - sorry the sweep and walk haven't started things off for you, baby is obviously very cozy in there.
Chimp - hope the test went well.
PS - wow, this time next week your little one will be here, so exciting! Maybe pack your hospital bag though...
AFM - lots of cleaning yesterday which shattered me completely and my bump was really tight and achey all evening so I'm taking it a bit easier today. Going to order a few last minute bits for me and baby online. Made a start on packing hospital bag last night as well. Have midwife this afternoon and H has a half day so he's coming with me, which will be nice for him as he's not been before. Midwife said we would discuss my birth plan today so I'm quite looking forward to it.

Work are asking whether I will be at the Christmas party on 13th December this year. I have said yes, hopefully not being too adventurous!? If baby arrives on time she will be 6 weeks old then. I'm hoping to breastfeed so I suppose whether I express and she accepts a bottle all depends on what happens with feeding. Said yes without even thinking and then realised I had never done all of this before so don't really know what to expect and how soon I can be expecting to leave her for a little while with H.
06/09/2013 at 14:44
BG oh my god that's scary to see my name on the list already!!! My ELCS date is the same as my due date , 17th . Consultant was very flexible about when I had it
Sam hope you're not too bored at work.
Big hope you get all your shopping done
Noodle. 3miles?!! Blimey that would kill me right now!
Chimp hope the gtt has gone ok
PS less than a week to go, very exciting! Get packing that bag!
PC hope H enjoys hearing the heartbeat at your MW appointment
Sam I first left W when she was about 8 weeks to go to a black tie ball ( had to buy big Bridget jones pants to hold everything in!) W took a bottle fine although didn't have any feeding pattern really so I bf before I left then left several bottles and said try her in 2-3 hours with a bottle. Was away from her for about 5 hours altogether and dear god did my boobs swell in that time, I looked like Jordan by the end of the night!
AFM I think I am going to go for a ELCS. I will have a bit more of a look at stuff tonight ( avoiding scary websites!) , but I think it's the decision I'm going to go with . I doubt I'll ever feel 100% confident about it but I think most people don't whichever they choose.
06/09/2013 at 14:57
JT- A colleague did tell me about the 1st time she went on a girls night out after giving birth and ended up expressing down the toilet as her boobs had gotten so full! I can imagine it will probably be around the same time scale (about 5 hours) so will just see how things go nearer the time. It just felt so strange being asked about something, immediately replying 'yes' and then realising I don't have any clue about how things will be because baby will be here!
06/09/2013 at 15:19
Sam - I left A around the same time to attained part of my friends hen night, I was only gone for 3 or 4 hours though. I honestly think you won't know until that week. It all depends on them taking the bottle, and how you feel at the time. I'm sure they won't hold it against you if you decide nearer the time that you don't want to go.
