Happy Friday everyone!
I had a disturbed night last night, lots of tightenings, kind of Brixton hicks mixed with mild period pain. It definitely didnt feel like contractions, but it didn't feel like regular Brixton hicks either- I didn't get anything like this in my first pregnancy so it was a bit of an unknown. I'm hoping it means Attila is gearing up to come out soon! Today I have toddler group with J in the morning, then no plans yet for the afternoon, as it's looking nice we might just play in the garden for a while.
Hope everyone else is doing well.

Sorry didn't get back on yesterday.. Sounds like you have a nice day planned SG. Shame about the disturbed night though. These random pains at the end are so confusing - especially when all we're doing is waiting for labour and watching out for it. It feels like symptom spotting during the 2ww again haha
AFM - mortgage declined. No reason given. I've got 20% deposit and Im asking for 2.7 times salary. I've check my credit score, I'm marked as 999-excellent. I'm just so frustrated and upset to have to go back into renting. I'm going to call the bank directly (the mortgage broker is clearly not getting any answers) and see if I can get some information but who knows how much use it'll be. Other than that, H had to leave for work at 5am today and I couldn't get back to sleep so I have a banging headache now. Got growth scan at 9.20am and then midwife at 11am and all I want to do is call this bank and get some answers but that will have to wait until this afternoon :(

SG - ooh not long to go for you!! Maybe Attila gearing up like you say! Garden play sounds nice and hope you enjoy the sunshine!
WW - that sucks about the mortgage and really suprising as 20% deposit is a really healty deposit. Hopefully teh bank will give you answers? If not definitely worth trying other lenders. We went with Post Office which is run by Bank of Ireland as they offer one of the best rates when we bought and can't fault them. Good luck with your growth scan. How far along are you?
AFM - seem to be coming out the end of a really busy period of work so able to get on here! Still can't believe I am 3rd tri! Definitely developing some attractive cankles and have high blood pressure so have to go in for weekly monitoring but hopefully won't get higher!
Hi to all who follow!

SG - sounds promising! Sorry you didn't get a good night though. Enjoy the sunshine for those of us stuck indoors today boo! I wish I was in a garden right now.
WW - I hope they have a very good reason for you! That seems ridiculous. Could you try another lender? We went with Nationwide if that helps at all? Hope the scan helps cheer you up a bit and the mw appoinment goes well. Hugs
CJ - Have you been given anything for your bp? Hopefully it will come down a bit now work is quieter too? Joining you with the cankles though. Every part of me seems whale like at the moment!
AFM - nothing much to report baby wise. Waiting til the end of work and then we are off to wales for the weekend to see MIL. She's bought us a cot mattress so we are taking that back with us and I am hoping to have a pretty chilled day. Taking my sd to get H a fathers day present and he's got a rugby awards ceremony thing so should be a nice weekend!
Hi to those that follow

SG, sorry you had a disturbed night but fingers crossed that it means things are happening for you. Enjoy the sunshine!
WW, so sorry about your mortgage, that's really rubbish. We went with Clydesdale, they have manual underwriters rather than just feeding everything into a computer, so maybe they're worth a try? Good luck for your growth scan.
CJ, glad to hear work is calming down a little bit, that should help to keep your bp nice and low.
Jonesy, sounds like a nice weekend :) Hope you have fun at the awards ceremony!
AFM, not a lot to report. Baby kicks are getting quite a bit stronger, some of them really quite hurt! It's a beautiful day here so I might go out for a walk later :)
Hi to all who follow :)

it's gorgeous here too Fig. I'm jealous that people actually get to go out in it! Enjoy the walk
16/05/2014 at 11:21
The benefits of working from home! ;)
16/05/2014 at 11:49
SG I hope those tightening a turn into something for you soon. Were you over with J last time?
WW sorry about the mortgage. Defo try and get a reason before trying with anyone wise or you could end up making it worse, getting marks on your file etc. I hoot you get a good reason that you can overcome as it sounds king you're an ideal candidate. Although do bear in mind that credit score and credit file are two different things.
CJ good to see you here. You should be taking it a bit easier now, sod work, you and bang cj are what matters.
Jonesy yay for the mattress, and a weekend in Wales. I think you'll hang lovely weather for it so have a nice time.
Fig it's lovely here today too. I'm just sitting outside having some lunch, it's so nice eating outdoors. Enjoy your walk and hopefully it tire out mini fig to stop her kicks hurting quite so much.
I'm off to the physio today, I went on Wednesday but they'd not booked me in by mistake. Had a better night sleep last night as H was away so I could starfish!

Good afternoon everyone, the thread is getting busier!
SG, playing in the garden sounds perfect!
WW, rubbish news about the mortgage, I hope you're able to get some answers soon. How was the growth scan and midwife?
CJ, the cankles are fabulous, aren't they? Glad to hear work is winding down a bit. FX the pb comes down, hopefully with work getting easier it might help.
Jonesy, have a great time in Wales!
Fig, I hope you do get out for a walk, it's far too nice a day to miss out on! Hopefully baby moves down a bit soon, that might make the kicks hurt less, especially if you're getting kicked in the ribs now.
Imp, glad you had a better nights sleep last night, and hopefully the physio today does you for a few days of feeling better. How often do you go?
Phew. Turns out I've left this window open for over an hour now. Oops! Hopefully I haven't missed anyone. Challah was a bust yesterday, and I'm out of bread flour, so i might go get some more and attempt it again after my MW appt this afternoon. A friend who's due two days before me had her waters go this morning, scary. I didn't even test out the car seat yesterday like I said I would! Being term makes me hyper sensitive to everything. Every twinge is overthought. Not sure how I'm going to make it through the next few weeks.
16/05/2014 at 13:30
CJ - sorry to hear about the cankles and high blood pressure. I did have similar whilst working and as soon as I stopped my blood pressure went down as did all swelling. How long till you're off on mat leave?
Jonesy - sounds like a lovely weekend. Cot mattress is still on my shopping list. Asda currently have one for £19 but I'm not sure about it.
Fig - yay for strong kicks. Some of mine used to take me by surprise and I'd gasp and H would wonder what had happened
Imp - yay for a good nights sleep. Hopefully the physio goes well today.
AFM - growth scan went well. I'll probably get shot for saying this but, she's ugly. In the nicest way possible. She's facing down, all squidged and scrunched up, grumpy face, and gremlin like in the scan haha. I still love her don't get me wrong, but she's not a supermodel in there anymore! She's also at 95th centile for her belly. A big thick layer of fat over her belly so I have to go for my third GTT just to be safe but I imagine she's just a chunky monkey after eating too many Easter eggs! As for mortgage hell, I called the bank, nothing on their system of us at all. So now I'm thinking is the mortgage broker lying by saying she applied? There's nothing from my surname, DOB or address and she said there should be... She also said they never don't provide a reason to a broker... GRRRRR!!! Officially have the hump with all things house related. Maybe baby sympathises and that's why she's grumpy too haha
16/05/2014 at 14:08
Not had a chance to get on for a while - hope I don't miss anyone!
SG - Hope those tightenings turn into something. I seem to get them every so often but put it down to baby starfishing in there!!
WW - Bad news about the mortgage - can highly recommend my broker James at Marchwood IFA if you want to try someone else. Glad the scan went well though.
CJ - Hope the BP doesn't get too high!
Jonesy - Awards night sounds good!
Figaro - same here, sometimes they really make me jump!
Imp - Hope physio goes well :)
Wispa - I'm sure you will be fine! Get that car seat sorted today missy!
AFM - am getting uncomfortable at my desk now, I'm ok till about 2-3pm then all I want to do is go home and lie down! Got someone coming to take my shed away tonight and will need to rope the neighbour into clearing it for me as the boy is out! Weekend of yet more decorating, stark contrast to last weekend which I spent in Spain being pampered by my daddy! Had 32 week drs appt this week with whooping cough jab (that still hurts!) and got 32 week growth scan on Monday too :)
16/05/2014 at 15:32
Ww- how frustrating about the mortgage, and confusing if the bank is claiming no knowledge. Hopefully there's a mix up or mistake somewhere that can be rectified and you can get it sorted and move forwards. I'm glad all was well with the scan, I'm sure what she looks like in the scan doesn't necessarily relate to what she'll look like once she's out!
Cj, your cankles sound hawt. I had some pretty attractive ones last weekend but they've receded a bit now, hopefully yours will too!
Jonesy, have a lovely time in Wales.
Fig, some of the kicks really are a bit painful aren't they? I've found I'm getting fewer kicks now and more wriggles, I guess Attila is out of space. Enjoy your walk if you go.
Imp, yay for a better night with the starfishing! I hope the phys is helpful today. Is it still a private one or have you been seen by the nhs yet? Officially I went a week over with J but according to my dates I went into labour bang on 40 weeks. This time my dates are closer so I'm hoping not too late...
Wispa, boo to the unsuccessful challah, I hope the next batch work better! I'm so with you on over thinking every twinge...
Kapowski, not too long to go till home time now! Though it doesn't sound like you have the most exciting weekend planned, being pampered in Spain trumps decorating any day of the week! Hope the whooping cough jab feels better soon.
Afm, had a nice morning- went to see my mum and neice rather than toddler group as you can't park at group and I couldn't face the walk, it's only 5 mins but I'm so sore right now. This afternoon we've just been chilling, it's nice weather here but not as amazing as down south I don't think, I suppose that's York for you!
16/05/2014 at 15:50
Back from midwife.. Baby is mostly engaged, she could still feel 2/5 of the head. She said there was a trace of protein in my urine, and that it was quite common in the week or two before labour for that to be the case? I can't find anything about that online, but she seemed to think baby wouldn't be late. My BP was 100/60, though, so no worry about PE anyways, which is good.
16/05/2014 at 17:13
Wispy, all sounds very positive. No queue jumping though! ;-)
16/05/2014 at 18:01
SG, I'm the last one who wants to queue jump.... Unless you go way over. And what is the queue now anyways? Are you next, then.... WW and I? I'll have to go check the list...
16/05/2014 at 18:06
Girlonmars had hers yesterday I believe, and I don't know who Ducky17 is so the queue appears to be:
2) Wispa and WishfulWhispers
I'd keep going, but that brings us up to June, anyways. Exciting!! SG, you're next!!
16/05/2014 at 19:42
Exciting and terrifying at the same time! There's really not much between you, me and WW, could be anyone next!
16/05/2014 at 20:53
And LL and VT as well! VT will be at term in a few days..
