I should probably think about packing bags soon and am going to go for one for labour and one for ward - can anyone remind me of where they got cleaned up straight after the birth? In other words, should I pack clean underwear and nightwear in my labour bag? And maternity pads? Or would they give me one to start me off? I cant really remember anything!

I've put clean stuff and pads in both my bags
I didn't get cleaned up til the next morning as had stitches late on so was numb overnight and couldn't do anything til the morning. Not sure what will happen this time x

I got cleaned up in the delivery room.
Once the MW had checked if I needed stitches, she ran me a bath.

I didn't get cleaned up until the following day after i'd had all the various tubes removed (Couldn't go in the shower with them) I had pads provided in the bedside unit next to my bed but i took my own too as i didn't like the hospital ones once i could get underwear on.

I had a quick shower while they were tidying up the delivery room, then we went down to postnatal ward. So yes, I'd pack fresh knickers and pads.

Weep I was given a bed bath as my labour had been very long and I had an emcs so couldn't do anything due to the epidural. Gave birth on sat night and finally allowed to get out of bed at 7pm on the Sunday. Maternity pads were provided next to the bed.

I was provided with maternity pads and had a shower in the delivery room an hour or so after S was born. I just had one bag with my stuff in it and a smaller one with babys stuff. Although it was such a rush to get me to delivery my bags were left upstairs on the ward!
