My friend has just had a baby boy and as she already has a boy I don't really want to get him clothes as will already have lots. My mind just seems to have gone completely blank at what I can get? Any ideas please?

It's not a choice popular with everyone but I like proper books as gifts for children, classics that they can have read to them and then can read themselves later. My son was given Wind In The Willows by my uncle, a beautiful hardback version, and still has it :)
Black and white baby books, a Lamaze toy, a nice blanket (I don't think you can every have too many)
I got my friend some nice boy themed muslins (blue ones and ones with cars etc on), as I could never justify buying anything other than plain ones so coloured ones always felt like a treat!

Oooh thanks ladies some great ideas there. I'll look into all of them thank you.
If this isn't allowed slap my wrists, but how about a freestanding initial? Or plaque with birth details and name on? I have a page of you wanted to hve a look www.facebook.com/myhearthenry

Personally yes we had far too many blankets, he slept in Grobags and had a warm footmuff for the pram, so we never needed any. I only throw them over him when he's napping now and two is enough.
I love MissusS's initials, they are lovely, and specific to the baby too. Or I do like the idea of coloured muslins.
Just a thought but if her boys are born in opposite seasons she might actually need some clothes, e.g. if her first was summer-born then she might need some winter clothes in small sizes.

Love the letter initial idea too! What about a morrck hoodie? Depends how much you want to spend of course. Gro bags too?
