Am 28 +1 now - How late do you think I can/should leave it before buying a dress?!? I don't want to be stuck with nothing but I also don't want to buy too early and end up with something that doesn't fit!

I've exploded again this week (30wks), I would be leaving it until the week before personally. Or buying now in a size bigger.

I dread leaving it till the week before for fear of not finding anything I like lolol
Ps how did you hit 30'weeks already?! Time goes so quick!!

If you buy a maternity dress they are usually stretchy and can accommodate quite a bit of change. I bought a size 12 maternity dress for a christening at just 9 weeks knowing it was stretchy and at 23 weeks it still fits and I think will look better on the bigger I get.

I don't know!! This is my amazing but scary week, 30wks seems so far on!
TP has more experience as this is her second, I just know that stuff that I bought a couple of months ago I wouldn't wear now. I ordered two dresses from New Look this week for Christmas, maternity and in a size larger than I'm wearing just now. I pick them up tonigh so will report back on whether I think they will still fit at 38wks.

I bought a maternity dress from ASOS which I wore at 13 weeks and 30 weeks and fit me fine both times. I suppose if it's a really tight bodycon type dress then it might get a bit small, but the whole point of maternity dresses is that they are supposed to stretch to accommodate a growing bump.

I think it depends on the style and the fabric. I had a stretchy jersey maxi dress that I wore from 25 weeks all the way to full term and it fit better the bigger I got I think. Something more structured and with less give you might be better waiting. I think I'd start looking now.

I managed to wear the same dress for a wedding at 20 weeks, Christmas (26 weeks), and my baby shower (37 weeks!) It was a wrap style dress from ASOS and I loved it. I found ASOS stuff a bit hit and miss but I had two lovely dresses from a random brand that they stock.

For me it's not that they don't fit anymore, but more that I don't like how they fit, if that makes sense? Some maternity stuff I bought months ago that was lovely on now annoys me, and I've grown in to other pieces which didn't sit as nice to begin with. It's all very hit and miss I find.

Hmmm perhaps I'll leave it 3/4 weeks more.....that's halfway ya to the wedding....

Reporting back...I bought this in a 14 (pre-pregnancy I wore 10-12) and it looks like it will do me until DD.
That said, i also bought this in a 14 (same shop, same day) and if it still fit in two weeks I'd be lucky.

With G I grew out of very few things, and those I did were on the smaller side at the start. If you buy something with room you should be fine.
I recommend Tiffany Rose, it's expensive but beautiful. If you don't want to spend that much you can often pick up their stuff on ebay having been worn once by others for a wedding, party, christening etc...
