What do your LO's wear in their grobags?
i tried O in one of his the night before last and he had on a short sleeves body suit, a babygrow and scratch mits. The gro egg said the room was 19.4, the angelcare monitor said 21 and the little cardboard theometer that comes with the sleeping bag said 21 so I had him in a 1tog and he was also sleeping in his poddlepod inside his crib.
Im quite a cold person and have a massive duvet on the bed for winter as I find our room cool so I couldn't help but think this didn't seem much (its the 1tog! It seems like nothing!) O woke up crying twice on the night and I automatically assumed he would be cold and was prepped with a thin blanket but he actually felt quite warm, is this too much clothes!?

Es room is currently 21 degrees, she's in a 2.5 tog back with Ls vest and a padded sleep suit, it gets down to about 18 and she'll wake even in that, in what you'd describe I'd struggle to get her to sleep.. Personally I'd say too little clothes.. But every child is different in how they feel temp.

Personally I think they both sound like they are wearing loads!!! P's room averages about 14 at night snd she was in a long vest, sleepsuit and 2.5tog sleepsuit until a few weeks agonwhen she moved into a bed. If uou google the grownbag temp advice I think at 21 they recommend just a longsleeve vest in a 2.5 at that temp or sleepuit and 1 tog. 21 is very warm for a baby room, 16-20 is ideal grow egg temp.

E is currently in her 2.5 tog (we were using the 1 tog for naps) and is wearing a sleepsuit and long sleeved vest and her room is 21 degrees. Shes normally quite a hot bod too. But as others have said, all babies are different - go with your mummy instinct!

Thanks ladies, 14degrees AR!? There is no way I could sleep in that, is be in a full velour track suit! Lol! I make sure the gro egg is always yellow so below 20degrees, I don't believe the anglecare as it always says 21! At least the gro egg fluctuates. We don't have a problem with the room temp dropping as our heating is on a thermostat so automatically comes on to maintain the temperature.
MamaD I'm not sure I have the instinct!
As normal I put him down in his vest and babygrow (the babygrows are sort of warm velour sleepy ones) and I loosely swaddle him from under his arms down with a cellular blanket and then have another think blanket to put over him which he always kicks off, so he just sleeps with one cellular blanket really.
I'll give it another go tonight with the grobag and see how we go!

A's room is anywhere between about 17 and 20 degrees and we have her in a long-sleeved vest, sleepsuit and a 2.5tog bag which i think is about right for her as she seems nice and warm when I get her out but her hands and still quite cool.

My LO is a very warm baby and gets hot, so with too many clothes on he wont sleep. Ive tried him in a 2.5 gro bag with short sleeved vest and sleepsuit but he won't settle and gets upset. So we have had to scrap the gro bag and currently sleeps in short sleeved vest, sleepsuit and a cellular blanket. Our gro egg is anything between 16-19 degrees but to be honest if its less than 18 hes happier! My little hot bodied baby that he is! Ill try out a 1.5 tog though once he's in his cot.

H is in long sleeved vest, sleepsuit and 2.5 tog gro bag. I also cover his hands as otherwise they feel like blocks of ice. I think he's ok like this for now - our room tends to be about 19-20 degrees

I'd put him in a long sleeved vest and a 2.5 tog grobag. The 1 tog are for summer. S wears a long sleeved vest, sleepsuit and has a 2.5 gro bags with pop on arms. She won't go to bed without the arms on. X

Thankyou ladies. When I took him up last night the room said 19.6, O has a long sleeve vest, velour feeling sleep suit and scratch mits on. I put a blanket over him and he kicked it off so I put him in the 1tog again and he slept right through until he woke for the night feed. His hands and face are warm as is his bod so I'm not going to put him up to the 2.5tog yet. I do have a cellular blanket over the end of the crib incase I need if in the night.
Another question however! I can just get the poppers under the arms in on the grobag but it's stretched really really tight over his chest, do I just leave them out now? They look too tight to me and incomfortable so I've not fastened then but should they be? There's no way the neck gap could go over his head but I do feel it lets the zip end sort of bunch slightly at his face (although not covering his mouth)

Yep they are fine to leave after about 10lb iirc. Might be less. Gosh 14 degrees And no one here would get sleep. It got down to 17 here the other night and was not a good night.
