You get one if you have a history of large baby, baby measuring big, you have a high bmi, over a certain age (can't remember what age), history of pcos, or family history of diabetes

Alrighty - my BMI was just under 30 at start, mum and uncle developed diabetes in their 40s and I'm 37, my baby was 9lb 5. So I think I'll ask her about it. Thanks!

You midwife will let you know if you need one. My BMI was 31, just 1 over the limit but I have family history so I had to have it!

WEES. I had a high BMI so had to have it. I had to have it earlier in my 2nd pregnancy as I'd had insulin dependant GD in my 1st pregnancy.

Interesting that history of PCOS is supposed to get you a GTT - I have, and noted it on my midwife forms but wasn't offered one with J. Wonder if I will be this time.

Or if you are from certain ethnic backgrounds... I had to have one as I'm half-Indian.
