It's not pleasant, but take a good book to pass the time and you'll be fine!

Fingers crossed you get a better result than I did.....

I didn't mind it. The drink was horrid but I quite enjoyed the magazine reading after, kept me away from the housework! ;)

I've had it twice before so know what to expect - I think that's the problem! It's so boring. Plus I hate Lucozade. I need to take L with me. Amusing a 3.5 yr old al that time should be great fun!

I'm sure ill be negative anyway. I get it because my dad is diabetic, I have no symptoms or reason to think I have GD. Seems a waste of time really and it means my H doesn't get a day off work for 2 weeks so really not good!

I didn't think it was too bad, it was the not eating that I hated. Luckily there were a few of us in the waiting room so I had a nice chat with some pregnant strangers, even though I'd taken my book along. The drink I had was ok, bit like neat lemon squash (which I mixed with vodka on occasions in my late teens so I know it's bearable!). Hope it goes ok

I picked up the orange lucozade rather than original so the nurse hunted around the surgery and found 4 or bottles with warm, mostly flat dregs in that made up the measurement! It was foul!

I was alound to leave the surgery for the 2 hours though which heled the time pass. I was suddenly hit by light headiness and nausea in a shop though due to hunger!

Hope u manage to keep ur LO entertained!

Mine is in the hospital. They supply the Lucozade then after the second blood test they make you eat a sandwich and cuppa before you leave.

I'm planning on stocking up on snacks, stickers and putting new games on my iPhone e for him lol

take some snacks and drinks for afterwards. I was promised a 'light breakfast' in the letter. I was expecting tea and toast and got nothing. Good job I had a cereal bar in my bag as I had to go straight on to work. And a magazine or book. It's boring the wait in between.

Is that how they still do it in your area? My first was like that but last time I had to stop eating at 9pmtbe night before and then eat from a set list of food 2 hours before the blood test so no rank drink and no hanging around for hours.

I had GD this time round. Wasn't as bad as I thought, and actually they don't think a being a whopper was due to it as I controlled it by diet alone.

    Good luck!

We weren't provided with any food but I had food in my bag for as soon as I had finished. Does everyone else have lucozade? Mine wasn't!
