I have Strep B...found in my urine and given antibiotics for it.
I was a little worried but looked up loads of info and spoke to midwife both at my local birthing centre and a midwife in the consultant led unit at the hospital.
Was told I need iv antibiotics while in labour to help prevent cross infection as was higher risk due to discovering it in urine.

Did they take the needle out after each time? That's my main concern!!
mcrfi will they test you at the '36'??? wk or whatever week it is? Maybe then you could still have it at home if swab comes back clear!!

I'm scared as with drips won't we hAve be mostly bed ridden and when do we go in xx

I don't know but will be asking at the appt I have at the consultant led unit. I would like it if the needle is taken out because I was told you have it every 4 hours and it lasts for half hour. I was told this by the midwife who I rang when I got the letter from. Who knows labour might be finished in 4 hours...lol!! (NOT)!!
Both my other 2 were late and I was induced, I am hoping this one comes on time but obviously from the onset of labour you need to be in is what I was told, which if slow labour could take a while. Write down all the questions you want to know and then when you go to see the midwife and have 'baby brain' you'll remember what it is you need to ask.

I went in hosp early really as soon as the pains started n you can walk around wiv the drip attached, I then managed to convince them to let me go home n woke up few hrs later in much pain, n had no time for the nxt drip.
I think your right if I get the swab n its ok then I could have homebirth but last time it was detected at 8 weeks n they were putting me off home birth x

Feels like ages away. I have already had 2, difficult with the first, 2nd was easier...expecting this onne to just walk out!!! OJ!! Not scared at all except for the fact that I have a low lying placenta and I really don't want a c-section. There is time for it to move so not worried, will cross that hurdle when I get to it.
Hasn't flown, took 9 years to get pregnant and that was with the help of the clomid so kind of feel like I've not been here before and all the usual worries are there especially when you read other stories which I try not to read. You're not that far behind Missl and if this one is late and yours is early or on time, well, we'll be even closer together. Once I have spoken to the mw in 12 weeks I will write down any info that I get and once I've had the baby will let you know how it went. You must be having your scan soon Missl!! Excited?? Fearful?? Both!!

Daughter was 2 weeks late plus 5 days of induction...felt like forever. Son was 10 days late induced for morning...makes me wonder if I'd waited another day or two if he'd have come in his own time?? Braxton hicks are happening quite a lot at the moment (normal apparently) so hoping sprout comes on time...don't want early although we're nearly ready. I home educate my 15 yo and 9yo so plenty to do each day.
It can get easier, but everyone is different, and listening to scary stories about birth (so won't tell you mine) doesn't help you to keep calm. LOL
