Thank you for thinking of me and thank you mcsquirtle for letting me know about this thread.
We'll we finally bought k home on Thursday evening. We had been staying at the hospice for 2 and a half weeks before that. They were brilliant there and we will go back once a week for their playgroup they run. We are starting to get into a routine at home, although not yet mastered the naps in the day. K is just like a normal baby at the mo, she's not on any meds still, only infacol for wind. We've had a professionals meeting take place to agree how each group of people will support us and to write down meds we would be happy for them to use and for what. We've got to meet with the consultant later in the week to do an ambulance directive, so if she ends up in an ambulance they won't resuscitate if it'scaused by her condition. It is currently lovely being home, but also a bit unnerving as we are thinking of her as a Normal baby and I think this will make it harder for us when things go wrong, but if we don't we wouldn't be able to enjoy her as much. She's still only met a couple of friends, so we are beginning to organize people to come round. It still feels a bit like a nightmare, but we are thinking of the positives and taking each say ad it comes. She's already beating the odds as she is now 5 weeks and 5 days old and we were told she probably wouldn't last a month.

Thank you for taking the time to update us Bunny. I'm so glad you have her at home and are having some 'normal' experiences and building memories with her. Amazing that she's already beating the odds. The hospice sounds great, although it's a shame such a place should have to exist I'm glad it's there. I won't try to pretend I understand your thoughts or the emotional rollercoaster you are on, but please know we're all thinking of you, baby K and your family lots. Xx

Echo what BG says, as brilliant as I'm sure the hospice is it must be lovely to have K home. I think about you and K often so please know your in everyone's thoughts and that if you need time to talk we are all here to listen. Enjoy organising the visitors to the house and your time with K

Sounds like you are doing brilliantly Bunny. I'm so pleased you're strong enough to really make the most of every day you have, you're amazing.

Thank you. I've avoided the forum for a bit as although I am happy for everyone with their birth announcements, it s upsetting that k is not going to be able to have a 'normal' life and might not get older. It's lovely to know that many of you are thinking of us, it makes me feel better knowing there's another support network there for me xx
