Are there any I should avoid during pregnancy? Are there any that are safe?
Due to the rubbish weather it hasn't been effecting me but the last few days it has a little bit and this morning I woke up with an itchy throat and nose that was also running! I want to take something but I have no idea if I can or not?!

I spoke to a pharmacist yesterday about hayfever remedies (although not pg, am BFing). He recommended a nasal spray called prevlin (or something like that) - a tenner (!) in boots. Apparently you can get it on prescription but I didn't bother as I don't get it badly, I just wanted something in case I had a bad day.

I donk't *think* you can take anti-histamines which most hayfever tablets contain. However, when i needed them i was BFing but not pg so i can't exactly remember the details. I'd pop to a Boots or similar and ask. There is probably something you can get on prescription.

I've used prevalin, it's pretty good but not as good as normal anti histamine IMO. It's got no active ingredient and just works as a barrier to the pollen. You do get a nice minty smell up your nose, and it as I say it's pretty good so offers some relief.
Gemini told me about the Lloyd pharmacy allergy reliever the other day, I'm seriously considering buying one.

there is a Lloyds just around the corner, I'll pop in today and see what they say and if they have an allerfy reliever. Thanks!

The allergy reliever is this "thing" that you plug in and use twice a day. It looks and sounds bizarre but Gemini swears it works for her. I think she's on your 2nd try thread so you could maybe ask her before buying it as I've a feeling it's expensive.
