I suffer from headaches/migraines a lot normally but obviously now I know I'm pregnant (4+3 today) I can't use nurofen/naproxen like I would usually. I've come home from work today with a terrible headache, which is alleviated for the most part with paracetamol but I still have this horrid dull fullness in my head...... Anyone used anything helpful?! I've tried 4head before when not pregnant and found it abit pants....

Paracetamol and lots of water.
When I was on the IVF drugs I had horrid headaches that paracetamol didn't shift and I couldn't take anything else, I found a cold flannel on my forehead did make a difference though. Won't help at work but in the evening it was nice to come home and just lay there with a flannel on my head!
Also getting my H to massage my temples but he got bored quite quickly...

Those sticky cold migraine strips got when you're at home, but like Duckys suggestion of that cold flannel, you can't really do that at work. Not much else, sorry!

I'm also a big headache sufferer and early pregnancy was horrendous - my headaches were so bad I couldn't function. Paracetamol helped slightly, whereas normally it doesn't touch my headaches, and also the 4head migraine patches that you stick on your forehead provided some relief. I also ended up having acupuncture because I didn't want to keep taking paracetamol long term and because I was at the end of my limit with it it. I'm pretty sure the acupuncture made a huge difference. I've not woken up with one of my headaches for weeks!
I hope you're soon feeling better.

Have you tried the 4head stick? It's like a cool menthol stick that you put on your forehead, it works for me outside of pregnancy but have only just thought about it, that & sleep, hope they ease soon x

I got these too & they were horrendous - especially as I'm not really a headachy person. Paracetamol, ice flannel, 4-head stick, ice cold water, fruit & fresh air. And lots of sleep! Hope you get some relief soon, you have my absolute sympathy x

I got really bad headaches in first tri and some at the beginning of second tri. Unfortunately I found nothing will make them go away entirely, but things can help ease it like paracetamol, the 4head stick but mainly drinking LOTS of water. Other than that I just took myself off to bed! X

I used to sit somewhere peaceful & have a pint of cold water & 4head helped.

Thanks for you tips ladies. I've been drinking water like it's going out of fashion today and that has helped a lot. I tried 4head before as I get headaches normally but didn't really help but I might try again :)

Just to mention I asked about the 4head patches and roll on stick thing at a pharmacy as it said on the box not suitable for use whilst pregnant - the pharmacist said they weren't safe to use as they work by diverting more blood to the site of application, so effectively divert blood away from your baby
