I had my 12 week scan a week ago yesterday and had the combind test for downs, all looked OK with baby the fluid was low on back of baby's neck, but today I got the call to say I was high risk (1 in 40) 😑
Was loaded with lots of information, with tests I can have done but wanted to ask has anyone else recently been through this and what did you decide to do!
Really worrying now, you think it's such a happy time then this crashes my happiness!
Thanks all x

Congratulations on your pregnancy!
With my LO I was given a ratio of 1:18 for downs or another chromosomal abnormality as well as potentially having heart problems.
It is an extremely personal choice whether or not to go ahead with further testing- I always thought that I wouldn't have any tests as I would love him/her regardless. However, I ended up having a CVS. I realised that I would rather know if there was anything wrong so that I could prepare myself. Thankfully I got the results back and they were all clear!
Pregnancy is a worrying time for everyone and a CVS or an amniocentesis is the only way you'll be able to put your mind at ease.
If you need a chat then I am here! If it helps, there is a 39/40 chance that your baby is totally fine! It helped me to think of it like that.

Thanks for your reply StubbornBrit , i have taken some time to get my head around it and look into the different tsts we can do, we both want to know as you say so we know and can prepare, so after a long chat we are going for the Non Invasive Prenatal Test, which we have to do private , its booked for next thursday so not to long to wait!
Thanks its good to have someone other than my hubby to chat with about it, no-one knows yet, not even family members or my other children we wanted to wait till we know the results before telling people so its really hard not being able to talk to anyone about it!
When you put it that way round 39/40 chance baby is fine it does seem so much better! I guess we will find out by the end of march as it takes about 7 working days for the result which will be around my birthday so it will either be a great one or not so great!
So glad you got the all clear and thanks for sharing that with me, really appreciate it! x

I did see there was a non invasive test that could be done when I was looking into it all, I think it was called a harmony test? at the time I think it was either only available in the US or privately here. I would have much preferred that!
Hopefully time doesn't feel like its dragging too much for you. I found that waiting for the results was the hardest part and had to distract myself to get through the days.
I totally understand about needing someone to talk to! Its tough in the early days as you want to tell everyone and then when you reach the 12 week milestone and think its safe to you get a bombshell. The second I got the all clear I told my eldest he was going to be a big brother- I couldn't wait to tell him! I'm pretty sure I told everyone possible lol
It was my OH that pointed out the odds the other way around, I was so obsessed with the 1 in 18 it seemed to consume me but it definitely helped looking at the more optimistic odds! I really hope you get the all clear and hopefully in only a couple of weeks so not too much longer and hoping it'll be the best birthday present ever and you'll be able to tell your other children!
Hope you have a good weekend x

Well I had the harmony test last Thursday and just waiting for the results!!
If all is well we will know the sex too as they tell from the blood sample.
Anyone have a guess at what you think baby is?
The lady has a good look between the legs but couldn't tell as the cord was right between it's legs! This was 15+4 days.
