My daughter's been a little out of sorts recently. She was sick in the pool on Wednesday but was fine straight after (obviously I got her straight out). We then went in the park briefly & she fell down a few steps on the slide & banged her head. She seemed fine but then was sick on Fri morning (only liquid that she'd just drunk) then has seemed ok, maybe a little quieter. She had a late nap today & now has a temp of 38.8 & is a little lethargic. I've given her paracetamol. Trouble is I've felt sick & dizzy most of the day but put it down to early pregnancy but now am not sure if it's something else.
Sorry for the waffle. I leave for work/nursery at 6.30am if her temp is still up do you think it's ok to take her in to nursery if she hasn't been sick? She also didn't go to sleep until late last night (1am!) so that might be part of it too.
Thanks for any advice x
Forgot to mention that I only work on Monday & Tuesdays which is why I'm reluctant to take time off & hubby is doing interviews. We obviously would if she gets worse

It will depend on your nursery's policy I think. Ours will call you to pick child up if they have a temp over 39 that won't come down with paracetamol. I think you have to go with your gut instinct though, do you think she needs to be home with mummy? Or do you think she's well enough.
If she's contagious as well, she may to pass on to others if you think there's something she's passed to you

That's the problem, I don't want to take her in if she's contagious but I've no way of knowing what's causing the fever. My hubby is suggesting i stay home with her as it'd be easier for me as I seem to be nauseous 1st thing but part of me doesn't want to give in to pregnancy symptoms until I really need to. Also she only ever seems to get ill on the weekend & I've had quite a few days off which adds up when you only do 2 days. Wish she could tell me what's wrong

Hmm it's a tough one. I think you can probably only really decide in the morning. If she wakes up and has no temp, is fine in herself, etc I'd send her to nursery. If however she wakes up with a high temp still and still isn't herself, I'd keep her at home. It's so hard to know what to do sometimes.

Actually, just reading your post again has made me think of F a few weeks ago. He was sick couple of times for what seemed like no apparent reason. His temp was normal but his behaviour was atrocious - refused to eat and being really naughty. He later came down with conjunctivitis. Once we treated that he returned to his normal cheekt happy self. He'd obviously felt under the weather for a week prior to conjunctivitis but we had no idea why.

Thanks WG, she ate loads of dinner & her temp had gone down to 36.9 before she went to bed so hopefully it's just a passing fever. My hubby has agreed to work from home tomorrow if she still has a temp in the morning but fingers crossed whatever it was has now passed.
Conjunctivitis is not fun, I think the worse bit is actually trying to put the cream on them!
