    Hi,

I am due to go on holiday in 4 weeks, but I am a bit confused with what sun cream to use.
I have been told that you cannot use any sun cream with insect repellent or any tan prolonger creams.
    Is this right?

Also, should I wear flight stockings? If so, where do I get them?

    Any advice would be appreciated

    Thanks, Deb x

    P.S I will be 25 weeks when I travel.

not sure on the included ingrediants but I would say get a strong sun cream- I got burnt a week ago on not a particuarly warm day- its because our hormones make our skin more susceptible- I also eneded up with heat rash grrrrrr

You are supposed to avoid anything with Deet in it, so most mosquito repellant is out.

    HI

I am so glad u asked cos I was about to post just that, btu I was also wondering if you can still use the 'once a day' creams, this is what I normally use as I can't face wobbling myself around putting cream on in front of folk on the beach!!

Does anyone know anything about using these types of creams still?

    Thanks for the DEET tip

I go on holiday next week and I checked to see if I could still use p20 which is fine during pregnancy. Flight socks are available almost everywhere like boots, tescos, Sainsburys etc. X

Actually you are fine to use products with up to 50% deet in them, so insect repellants you will get from the chemists such as Jungle Formula are ok to use. The NHS and Health Protection Agency both state this and Jungle Formulas website says you are fine to use if you are pregnant.

We went to the Caribbean when I was about 18 weeks pregnant, I used Jungle Formula on my legs and feet every night with no problem. I also use the all day long sun tan lotions, I find them much better than having to keep reapplying.

Just take it easy in the midday sun and drink lots of water!

Enjoy your holiday, where are you off to?

Thanks for all your replies Really helpful.

I bought a piz buin tan prolonger cream you see, so was wondering about that. Although it is ok to use fake tan, so I imagine it is ok. I will also take a normal high factor cream too.

I normally always get prickly heat in the sun, but will just have to put lots of cream on and cover up if this happens, as you cant use anything for that can you?

I'm off to Greece, so may just get some of that jungle formula as there will be loads of mosquitos there I imagine

    Thanks Again xx
