ok so im 26+6 with number 4
yesterday i went to the consultant and he was happy my lettz hasnt and wont effect me but he looked at my last 3 labours and added in that my baby is low down and advised me that A my hospital bag needs to be packed now just incase and B at the first sign of labour i get to hospital ASAP as he thinks if i dont il give birth on the way!!!
so what i want from you ladies is advice and opinions and any experience of home birth.
my main worries are my other children the ten year old and 7 year old partically worry me they are old enough to be traumatised if they hear/see anything
has anyone else had a home birth with older children around??
have i left it to late to organise??
is there other things i need to be thinking of??

I didn't want to read and run. I have no experience or advice to add.
Personally, I couldn't do the home birth idea, however, I applaud those who consider such an option.
I read an article on the DM that opened my eyes about homebirth and made it seemed much more do-able than I previously thought http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2536575/Hello-world-F-hurt-Mother-live-tweets-shares-intimate-photos-home-birth-bid-shed-light-primal-mysterious-experience.html.
Best of luck with whatever you decide to do - You never know, your children might "enjoy" sharing the experience with you

hi didnt want to read and run,
i would love to have a home birth, i wanted 1 with my son but my partner was not having any of it
iv asked him maybe if we could think about it this time round (if all goes well) but im not sure if it would be fair or right on my sons behalf he is only 18 months old and will be 2 and a bit by the time number 2 is here, then i also think back to my labour with my son, even tho he was a week late and back to back he had done a poo inside of me and being in a hospital was the right place for us.
I think it must be wonderful to have a home birth and i wonder if you feel more relaxed being at home?

I had an easy birth the 1st time (well in comparison with a lot of people) & wish I'd have thought more about a home birth as it would've been a lot more comfortable so I'm really hoping to get 1 this time. I'm only 6 weeks tomorrow so am only at the research stage but I don't see why you can't choose to have 1 now but only if you're happy with that choice. It would probably be quite difficult if your partner wasn't supportive with the decision.

I would love a home birth but OH is worried as I'll be attempting a VBAC this time and he would be more comfortable in a hospital. If all goes well with this and we decide to have another baby then we will have a home birth for any more x
