I can't think of any reason why I should or shouldnt. So I don't even know why I am thinking about it really!

I think our neighbours knew I was planning a home birth last time but I was friendly with them anyway so it wasn't an odd conversation iykwim? This time I don't know my neighbour well (end terraced) but I will possibly mention something if the time is right, mostly so they're not pissed off by extra traffic on the road.

HorseFanI can't think of any reason why I should
So they know that the screaming/mooing/crying/shouting/swearing etc. in the middle of the night isn't anything they need to be concerned about

Haha that made me laugh DeeDee. However I was quite quiet last time. The person on the phone seemed reluctant to send a midwife because I wasn't mooning even tho I said contractions were 3minutes apart and the midwifes were in disbelief upon discovering I was fully dilated ...... Presumably ill be the same this time around ... Although I know every labour is different!

No I didn't. Didn't even occur to me. Then again they didn't even notice when an ambulance was sat outside with blue flashing lights.

I did. But we live in the catchment for three hospitals, so I was forever getting asked which one I was having her at. So I would always just answer with, 'I'm not, we're planning a home birth'. If people hadn't asked, I'm not sure I'd have told!

My neighbour told me that my other neighbour was having a home birth and I ended up hearing it all one Sunday morning. I didn't hear anything the other two times.

I'd have to tell them in my current house as just me running a bath at silly AM would wake them. I too was quiet in labour. Thinking about it home birth on our army camp would be interesting as they'd make you collect the midwife from the gate haha.

I did tell the neighbours who adjoined us (although I went into hospital in the end anyway) just because I'm sure she'd have been able to hear some noise through the wall. Depends on your house, of course, and how much noise travels.

i wouldnt. but i dont like my neighbours. and all they'd do is moan about it and slag me off not be worried about the noise.
