With our circumstances think it would be best to pack as if we could have be having either a c-sec or induced. Do I pack anything different for a c-sec?

Really big knickers, the ones that come practically up to your bra. You won't want anything rubbing near your scar. Same for clothing, you will want to stick with stuff that comes really high up. You will need a nightie rather than pyjamas for the first night as probably still going to have a catheter in. Sports bottle for drinking out of so you don't have to keep sitting up fully to drink.

Definitely big high knickers. The midwife that took me for a shower the morning after my CS said she was impressed I had "good" knickers especially since it was an emergency CS. She said she is always amazed by the amount of people who are having an elective that still bring tiny knickers! Primark do packs of 5 for about £2. Get a few packs as you will want to wear them for a few weeks after.
I couldn't bear the idea of anything touching my stomach so wore nighties for quite a while too instead of pjs
Shower gel with a hook- our hospital showers don't have a shelf to put things on and you won't be able to bend down to the floor to pick it up.
Slippers you can just slip your feet into without having to bend to put them on.

The knickers need to be at least two sizes bigger I would say, I've got it wrong both times but luckily here they have massive stretchy disposable knickers that were surprisingly comfortable! Defo a sports drink bottle and/or some straws. Take flip flops and a short sleeve nightie - again a bigger size. Never underestimate how hot a hospital is, it is so stuffy especially when you don't get any fresh air for days, I couldn't put slippers on as I was just too hot. Take some snacks that are easy to just grab with one hand and make sure hubby and nurses put everything within your reach...including your buzzer!

Baby wipes (for you, not baby) - I found standing up really uncomfortable and so didn't shower as much as I'd have liked. Gave myself a wipe over with the baby wipes which made me feel a little bit human at least.
