I'm worried H might be getting eczema - his dad has it and I've started to notice very faint dry patches if skin in his legs which feel a little raised and different to the skin around. He also has a few raised red bumps on his tummy. Could this be ezcema? If so is there anything I can do to stop it getting hold?

My lg's started the same way. We took her to the dr, who gave us Hidrocortizone (sp) to help at first, then once it was managed, a moisturising cream to apply daily to stop it from getting bad again. :-)

N's started at four months with a rash on his face which then spread all over his body. I went to see a GP who told me it was eczema, there was nothing I could do apart from go home and put on diprobase as he was too young for steroids.
We paid privately to see a dermatologist (best thing we ever did) who was disgusted by the GP and gave us a steroid and emollient treatment regime which is what we now do. We have since been eferred to the nhs. I would never let a GP treat my child's eczema again, they just don't have enough knowledge to manage it. His skin is now clear with the odd blip.

O's started in the same way as LLL's N, when he was 12 weeks. Thankfully, our GP gave us the hydrocortizone cream, Diprobase and later Unguentum. I found Aveeno and Lush's Dream Cream worked really well on his eczema, but it is a case of trial and error with these creams. O's eczema has cleared up except for the occasion patch on his arms or legs.
