I did this with A last night when she just wouldn't settle and she went out like a light, so we're going to try it again tonight.
I always thought that you put an arm across her chest, wrap the blanket around, tuck it under then put the other arm across the chest, and wrap that side of the blanket over.
However, loads of the youtube videos and things online say that you should put their arms down at their sides rather than across their chest...?
I would always leave her legs free so that she wouldn't be trapped and could maybe kick off the blanket if she got too hot..?
Any advice would be appreciated as we really don't want to do it wrong, but think it could really help settle her.

We lays put their arms at their sides to start and tuck the legs in too. As they got older and didn't like to be restricted we would leave their arms out f the swaddle

With Flynn and Tate, they liked their arms down by their sides but Rafferty liked his across his chest/stomach. We bought a miracle blanket from Mothercare which was fab for swaddling.
