I'm currently having midwife led care, well,I only see consultant at 34 weeks because I'm having to have section, but I'm really grateful for lack of appointments. I hate medical appts, and your'e right it's not as thorough as first pregnancy but for me that's better.
Why not ask for an extra appt If you are concerned,I would. Good luck with consultant though, hope all goes well x

With your first baby you tend to see your midwife more. With subsequent pregnancies,if it's a normal pregnancy you probably won't see a consultant at all unless there's a problem. With my last pregnancy I saw the midwife at 10 weeks, then 28 weeks, then every four weeks,in the last month every week,no more than that ,it's been similar with all of my pregnancies after the first. With the last one I had the nuchal scan twice at 12 and 13weeks because there might have been a problem, and another two scans to check the growth, and the 20 week anomaly scan, but that's because they suspected a problem, you'd normally just get get your 12 week and 20 week scans here .I saw a consultant as I was considered high risk cos this was my 7th.That was the first time I saw a consultant with any of them.
I actually prefer less appointments,as long as I know baby is growing and moving plenty. It is reassuring to hear the heartbeat though.
Would be reassuring to at least meet your new midwife.
