H is ebf and I really don't want to stop but I'm wondering how starting to wean might affect this.
how long before your babies reduced their bf? did you find it easy to keep feeds going?
i don't want to lose the bond from feeding but also don't want to hold up his development

Isla didn't drop any after weaning. Although we only managed another two months after weaning as she started to bite. She still had 4 feeds a day which switched to bottles and this went on til she was 14 months when I decided to cut out two feeds in exchange for snacks.

It took a while, around 3 months and even then it was sporadic, some days he'd feed loads others only one or two feeds during the day.
If you're blw it can take a while for them to actually eat much food and milk is still their main source of nutrition, so I wouldn't deliberately try to cut down any feeds until much closer to a year.

My daughter didn't drop any feeds for a few months when we started weaning, we also went down the BLW route. Think I dropped the day time breast feeds at just over a year (unless she really needed it when she was ill or teething). I'm only just trying to encourage her to drink cows milk more & trying to drop the evening feed so just having the morning feed at 17 months. All babies are different though. & I suppose only time will tell x

I seem to recall that it was quite a while after weaning that a feed was dropped, maybe 6 weeks or so

Thanks everyone I was hoping it might be a while as I don't really want to stop feeding him yet, I'm not ready!
