Bliss have spaces in the London 100 bike ride beg August which followes the Olympic route. Pre pregnancy I was pretty fit, running half marathons (although probably only 8 miles more recently) and doing lots of spin classes. I really fancy doing a big challenge. My boss has ridden lots and reckons If you're not aiming to go fast you can get away with very little training.
After S I was back running 2 weeks after. Now I appreciate if this baby is big I might not fancy hours in the saddle straight away! So shall I sign up on the basis I could always give my place away nearer the time if needs be?

I'd sign up knowing you can drop out easily. You might be a couple of weeks early and have a straightforward natural birth or be late and a section. No telling.
Not sure i'm the right person to ask. I was back on a horse in 3 weeks and out jumping by 7 weeks....!

How flat is the route? I find I can go miles and miles on the flat but if it is hilly I struggle quite quickly. Also if you we're breast feeding it might be difficult, I has episiotomy and forceps 3 weeks ago and would be quite happy to get back on my bike for a ride.

AR- oh yes, I was back on 2 weeks after too, although with a seat saver!
LG- I hadn't thought about the BF thing but hoping this one will be mix fed too so except the fact my boobs might explode I guess it should be ok.
Route is fairly flat except Box Hill but my colleagues tell me it's doable!

I'd do it if my heart was well. Hubs and I cycled from London to Brighton a few years ago for the British heart foundation. I dreaded it, but then loved it. Loads of fun!

At least on a bike you're not carrying excessive baby weight around quite so literally!

Yes you would be mad!! Lol xx

Oh ***, just looked again and it's 100m not 100km. I think that might be a bit much so soon!
I think if the birth os ok you will be fine x

If you can drop out i see no harm in signing up.
E is 12 weeks this week and my section scar is still way way too tender to do much more than a brisk walk into the village. If I've been bent over or carrying e lots I hurt a lot all night is personally it'd not be in my best interest to do it..but you never know you may be feeling fit and a fab!

I was going to say that one is 100 miles!
Have you ever been to Box Hill? I've walked it a few times. Killer. I swear you'd have to carry your bike up the hill.
As I said yesterday, I did the moon walk when M was 12 weeks. Post section. Absolutely fine.

Driven up it a few times as it's on my patch.
I need to find another challenge now! September time would be ideal!
