So disco is a pretty good eater (apart from the days he is being an awkard monkey) But I am finding it hard some days to think of meals that won't push him over his salt limit but will make sure he has enough to eat Am I being overly wary of Salt or is he eating silly big portions for his age?
What do your 18 months old eat how do you manage salt?
Disco has for breakfast
porriage (fab cos is salt free)
or wheatabix 1.5
or own brand shreddies or mini shredded wheats
all followed by some sort of fruit.
Left overs from daybefore
sandwhich made with 2 slices of bread and filling, philly, dairylea, ham, cheese and pickle,
Pitta bread and dip with tomatoes, cucmber maybe raw peper
when i have made them then savoury muffin with some veg on the side
He usually eats what we have I don't cook with salt but obviously some things I make use stock which is high in salt we buy the reduced salt stock but it is still pretty high
we have things like
cottage pie (which I make salt free)
pasta and homemade tomatoe sauce
fish fingers with sweet potatoe wedges and veg
and so on
I guess that my issue arise if he has had a sandwhich with a salty filling as that pushes his salt intake for the day up a lot limiting what else i can give him in the evening
Am I being overly fussy or am I missing a trick?
